Then he’s really not all that confident.
Still, if Utah wins the Big 12, then he’s going to have egg on his face, and doggy poo in his dish.

El Jefe AND Soupi were bird-dogging me! They even went so far as “taunting” me during my timeout periods, insisting that theirs was forum for cougar fans, so they could say whatever they wanted, but no such license for Ute fans. So it’s okay for the Yners to post racially insensitive terms such as “Yewt“, but I can’t say “2-star bonanza.”

Would if I could, but I’d been banned for life. Too many of my posts pointing out that the kids they’d just received a “commitment” from was only a 2-star recruit.

What if, if you poach a kid who is already involved with an NIL deal, the receiving institution must pay the the poached institution the value of the NIL deal already in place? That’ll create a disincentive to making “have not” institutions from turning them into “farm teams”. Like when Alabama was tampering with Rising and Kinkaid.

Those have been my experiences as well. And coincidentally, I’d lived in all those cities as well. Plus several others.

I like this one better.
That said, it’s more likely UCLA gets in, and Utah gets bumped out.

We absolutely will take a media hit in the Big 12. We’d been relegated to the PACN for 5 games last year in a 12-team league. Now we’re headed to a 16-team league. So now we’re going to be splitting the “national” games with more teams.

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Ute Lacrosse Takeaways… in the forum Other Ute Sports 9 months, 1 week ago
We’re actually two games into the season now, having already lost to Ohio St 2-wks ago. The Ohio St game was at least a competitive one. The Denver game leaves us with nothing to hang our hat on. Yes, they’re a Top-10 team, and yes we weren’t expected try beat them, but we didn’t look competitive against Denver.
Next week’s game vs Syracuse…[Read more]

With National Letter of Intent Day coming tomorrow, who has any inside information as to who we’d most likely sign?

Tides raise all ships. Once “unequal revenue sharing” rears its ugly head, that’s when “prima donnas” emerge, and conferences fall apart.

I don’t recall Apo being that great of a WR. Is he a good “coach”? What are his credentials?

I wouldn’t put the tdS as one of our tougher opponents. Tech and Iowa St will be tougher than ybu-p.

The high ranking could be a product of a less challenging schedule though. Easier slates tend to result in a greater amount of wins. And more wins brings about higher rankings. Phil Steele points this out every year when he differentiates between “where teams are expected to finish by season’s end” and “how good a team really is”.

Utah will play at UCF in 2024, but the only game set with a hard date are our nonconference games. For our conference schedule, you’ll need to periodically follow up on this website:

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Utah Lacrosse Schedule Dropped in the forum Other Ute Sports 10 months, 4 weeks ago
Wow! What a great schedule! We’re most likely not going to be seeing another double-digit win season with this SOS, but this is what we must do in order to continue building our program. Denver won a national championship a decade ago by following this very brand of aggressive scheduling.
For what it’s worth, Utah set its schedule last month,…[Read more]

I hated the predictable run game, but if that’s going to be our fate, what’s the point of sending those WRs out on a route? It’s not like Northwestern didn’t know what we were going to do. So at that point, we should have pulled 2 of them off the field, and replaced with any combination of FBs and/or TEs to open up the running game. Overall, a…[Read more]

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic What Are Your Concerns for Utah Football Going Forward? in the forum Football 11 months ago
My concerns are the growing trend of athletes opting out of the postseason. Because if they’re not expected to play, why are “we” expected to show up in support? And if “we” don’t show up to the games, we won’t get the good ones. It’ll be like the WAC years all over again, where we were easily bowl eligible, but left out of the postseason. Or…[Read more]
