PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Where are we at with Rose vs Wilson in the forum Football 3 days, 13 hours ago
Wilson is a true freshman. It’s not reasonable to expect that we’d be in the Big 12 race with a true freshman QB. It’s too soon to cut him.

To be fair, they were coming off a bye week, so they had more time to prepare.

Since it hadn’t already been mentioned yet, Bernard is currently 6th in the nation in yards rushing this season. He’s only 1-yd behind #5 Kyle Monangai (Rutgers), and 6-yds behind #4 Ja’Quinden Jackson (Arkansas).

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic If FSU and Clemson stay put in the ACC in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
With or without Florida St, Clemson, and Miami, short of a BigTen invite, I would have much preferred the ACC. And especially if we could have taken Colorado and Arizona St with us. If those aforementioned hopeful defectors were to stay, all the better.
That said, since we’re already here, unrestrained by any exit penalties, I think we might be…[Read more]

As a former student at ybu-p, I’d personally witnessed a ton of “superiority” comments from the student body. Here are a few.
1. “BYU is the Harvard of the West.”
2. “The only reason why people go to Utah, is because they were rejected by BYU.”. They also claim that’s why Utah fans hate ybu-p.
3. “Utah professors are anti-Mormon.”
4.…[Read more]

Ordinarily, so would I. But seeing as how Arizona has had an extra week to prepare, I’m not expecting this week won’t come without an extra layer of complexity.
The OSU/UA 2-game stretch has all along been widely deemed our most difficult stretch of the season.
Still looks that way.
GO UTES!!!

It was MISERABLE….. for the 1st-Half. However, there was a cool breeze periodically wafting through the stadium after the 2nd-Half started. So that wasn’t so bad.

If someone isn’t healthy enough to play, they shouldn’t play. So if Rising can’t grip the ball, and we have a greater chance of victory by starting the true freshman, then so with the freshman. I don’t have much problem with that. My issue is seeing all these strong hints that Rising will play, only to find out that on game day, he’ll be a…[Read more]

PhiladelphiaUte replied to the topic Utah in home vs away games in the forum Football 2 months ago
Away games are tougher, and especially when…
(1) We’re playing our 2nd (or 3rd) consecutive game(s) on the road
(2) We’re facing a ranked teamIn 4 days, we’ll get both. We’re gonna need to play our best game. Mike Gundy had already flat out stated they’re taking this one very seriously. They are respecting their opponent. I hope we will…[Read more]

The point is, there’s no evidence that TSPP has “a much larger fan base” than Utah as you’d suggested.
There is some evidence to the contrary though.

“…but the fact the LDS religion is world wide gives them a much larger fan base.”
Actually, the fact is, they don’t. There’ve been some common misconceptions that’s been perpetuated by TSPP:
(1) That “LDS” = “ybu-p fan”
(2) That “worldwide religion” = “worldwide fan base”The last estimated “fan” count listed the Big 12’s fan base as…[Read more]

It’s “LOL” because TSPP abandoned the MWC because they thought they were too good for it, and their member schools. And now those very MWC schools who TSPP was too good for, are actually joining the very conference zoob nation had spent the entire ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s boasting about leaving the WAC/MWC for. It’s “LOL” because it was SDSU, FSU,…[Read more]

Right? Their arrogance is equally astounding. That article made no mention of the tdS, yet their only takeaway was how much the Pac-12 wanted them!

confidence = good

We don’t have the best backfield in the country. We don’t even have the best backfield in the conference. Our Offensive backfield is below the typical standard for Utah football.
Step 1. Own it!
Step 2. Get better!
