We need a dam head coach to act like a coach and stop letting players make decisions on who plays or not. I think Utah is a dumpster fire right now and I’ve lost confidence in Kyle. I never thought I wound say that but not moving on from Rising long ago has been a major problem with this team for too long. I cant believe this isn’t affecting the clubhouse.

Kliavkoff completely misplayed the negotiations. He hired one of his buddies with no experience in deals like this as his consultant. He kept the presidents away from negotiations even after Randall requested to participate. Instead of using $50m as a negotiating starting point, he presented it as take it or leave it. Kliavkoff is incompetent and the presidents have mismanaged the conference through the tenure of two commissioners. Randall was headed in the right direction but has to accept responsibility as one of the 12 presidents.

The Buffs are certainly playing better than I thought they would. They have some very athletic players and have some typical first game mistakes to clean up. It will be interesting to see how this season shakes out.

I’m disappointed to hear Utah fans bagging on a kid playing his heart out for our team. He’s playing because the coaches think he’s the best option at that moment. It’s not his fault that the coaches aren’t recruiting better players or developing the other qb’s or the other qb’s aren’t capable of doing the job. I’m thankful we have Barnes who gives his all every season regardless of the outcome. If they want to be critical they should direct it at the coaches.

If Ludwig had nothing to work with it’s his fault. He recruits the offense. He recruits the QB’s. He develops the QB’s. He gave practice reps to Rising all season that should have been given to younger players. If the younger players aren’t ready to go he’s either recruiting the wrong players or his offense needs to be simpler. We’ll have the same problem next year because Ludwig is all in on Rising and he probably won’t make it through the season healthy yet again.

Barnes definitely crapped the bed Saturday and I feel bad. I was hoping for a cinderella ending that would help him get a good landing spot somewhere. Now I’m not sure anyone will want him. The game was very winnable had he made the reads correctly.

I’m usually pretty optimistic about the team but I can certainly see problems next year. The Big XXII isn’t going to be the cakewalk that too many fans think it will.
