So a kid comes in, gets every opportunity to shine, isn’t great, and then instead of improving and fighting after the coaches and fans backed him all year just bails when he isn’t handed more opportunities?
Cool. Good luck man.

Utah replied to the topic Curious about how many plan to watch the CFP this weekend in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Why is it weird? I don’t care about ND. Indiana is a school that isn’t great.
I mean, do I need to watch to know that ND will win? Hell, I didn’t watch, I don’t know what the final score is, and yet I know that ND won.
Finally, college football isn’t fun to watch. Too many commercials, clock runs too much, takes 4 hours to watch about 15…[Read more]

Utah replied to the topic Who is your dark horse pick to win the NC? in the forum Football 2 weeks, 4 days ago
A real darkhorse?
Well that eliminates ASU, Boise St, Indiana, SMU.
They don’t have the depth to win 3+ games in a row vs blue bloods.
The real darkhorse?
Penn St. They have the easiest path. SMU then Boise? Give me a break. Then they get Georgia after ND gives them a tough game?
But the winner will be Georgia, Texas or Oregon/Ohio S…[Read more]

I didn’t know it was this weekend. I assumed it would start over NYE weekend.
Huh. Guess I don’t care that much.

Going with this…it’s not so much the degree that is better…it’s the networking.
If you go to Cal, sit in your dorm and play video games all day…then your degree is no different than Utah’s.But if you meet people, get off your phone and get to know people…
Then your networking is better at Cal, especially depending on your career and if…[Read more]

When Whitt won’t allow the QB to throw the ball outside to WR’s, or more than 7 yards unless it’s off play action, you get very easy to defend.
The problem with the offense is Whittingham, because no matter who the OC is, we have the same problems.

Utah replied to the topic 2025 Top 4 Preseason Predictions in the forum Football 3 weeks ago
Man, I remember those early days in the PAC-12. I’d look at every team in the conference. Who is coming back, who is leaving, who had young players who look like they could be great. I’d rewatch games on the PAC-12 network. Get magazines, listen to podcasts, etc.
USC, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, the Arizona schools…all great…[Read more]

Utah replied to the topic Dampier or Wilson? in the forum Football 3 weeks, 1 day ago
Competition. That is what I want. Iron sharpens iron and all that awesomeness. I want two guys who want to battle it out so if one goes down another is ready. I want two guys who improve all spring and push each other to get better.
The better competition we have, the better football team we will have.
And I want the one who played better to…[Read more]

Utah replied to the topic Glover to Vegas in the forum Football 3 weeks, 1 day ago
Whitt wants big bruising backs who can run through the tackles. Glover wasn’t that. I hope this fits. I think our last RB coach screwed a lot of smaller backs by convincing them to come here when they just don’t fit what Whitt wants to do.
Credit to Glover for fighting it out here and I hope he excels with Mullen.

Utah replied to the topic Nate Johnson in the forum Football 3 weeks, 1 day ago
What?!? A QB who had time to throw, WR’s open and yet didn’t throw the ball?
OR when he did throw the ball, it was wildly inaccurate?
Who knew SEC teams would want a QB to be able to complete a dump off to a RB before they tossed millions at them?
Weird.

Utah replied to the topic Nate Johnson in the forum Football 3 weeks, 1 day ago
I went through Utah’s roster since 2019 and the only player who would qualify is Jackson. But he was a RS-SR last year for Arkansas so I don’t know how he’d get another year.
But that would be huge for us if Jackson got another year and came back. Absolutely massive.

I don’t think you are wrong. And I DO think Utah is in a unique position that we will more often than not be winners vs losers in the portal.
BUT, what sucks about it can be wrapped up in Calhoun. He came for one year, did ok, and now is trying to bail. That is ridiculous.
There needs to be contracts. Sure, you want a million dollars as a QB?…[Read more]

Also, nobody is going to prison for smoking or possessing weed. It just is not happening.
Might not be getting imprisoned, but there are certainly lots and lots getting arrested. (around 170,000 in 2021 alone).

I was talking with Mrs. SkinyUte about this the other day. We have three kids, ages 15 and 11 (twins). As they get older and consider partaking in something, I would prefer that they smoke weed over drinking and (obviously) any sort of harder drugs. 100 out of 100 times, weed would be the far better choice.
I would, of course, prefer that they…[Read more]
