I was over between the 10 and the 20 in the Swamp (sadly, standing right above Cam when he threw the pick at the end. It was plenty loud, but it wasn’t night and day compared to RES. Like, I am not saying RES is louder, but I totally agree with the loud enough comments.

Beignets are more like really good scones (like the old sconecutter fried ones, but good).

Welcome to SLC! Hope it is a great visit and a fun game (with a Utah W, but I am sure you are hoping the opposite! :)). I was at the game last year, and it was really fun. I had a great time and loved it all… except Cam’s last pass. Sigh. But the fans were super fun. We had good banter, and they pointed us to fun spots for after the game.

Agreed on most cases, but I will say on the BYU fan side, I really don’t think they have as big of a fanbase as they think, especially if you factor in fan engagement. BYU definitely DID, but from the independence debacle onward, they have been in a huge decline. As people leave the LDS church and as they have spent so long in the wilderness,…[Read more]

Yep, and it is a huge credit to BY that he did read the room that well. Once the bigger tech companies that were in contention started to tighten the belts in other areas, it was pretty clear to those paying attention that the deals wouldn’t be huge. When Amazon, Meta, etc. started cutting jobs aggressively, it was pretty clear that the exuberance…[Read more]

prestitute replied to the topic Is the new Big-12 just a high-rent WAC (circa 1998)? in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
In what world would ASU vs. UNM be a wash? I think you are looking at recent records as opposed to programs. Same with CU over CSU. The teams in the B12 are in a much more healthy status compared to the WAC and in terms of investment in the programs.

Yeah, twitter is still a dystopian hellscape that I think isn’t really used that much by ‘rational’ folks anymore. It is a place for shameless self promotion and complaints about how the world sucks now that white people can’t use the N word with the hard R anymore for ‘intellectual honesty’ and other BS like that. It is annoying that some of our…[Read more]

prestitute started the topic This title game makes me feel a little better about our game. in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
We were in it until Cam went down. I think what we are seeing is that there are certain levels of talent that can lead to super mismatches. I think tOSU is not as good as TCU this year (or similarly good), but the shear athletes they have made them a tough match for Georgia’s D (I think USC is similar), but that TCU tends to be a better coached…[Read more]

Many Florida fans don’t get how good Utah is. The Gators better
I officially have Utah 31 UF 24, but I know this one could be tight. Lately, feeling more like Utah by 10 though, with a late FG. -
prestitute started the topic Utes favored by Vegas and the Major Press… But Utah getting dogged by others. in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
It seems like everyone wants to pick us for the CFP but then everyone goes on to pick UF in the weekly. Frankly, I don’t think the nation respects us, and that comes from lack of knowledge. People don’t understand that Utah HAS dudes this year. Excited to go and surprise some people in the swamp!

prestitute started the topic Maybe we are finally becoming a true Pac12 team in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
Seems like our PAC brethren would always lose to out of conference teams, oftwn ones they were heavily facored over, then find a way to make the rest of rhe leafue look bad by winning a bunch of conference games. Hoping this game is an inflection point. I am not holding my breath, but I will still be here cheering the Utes on, win or lose, and…[Read more]

My take is that they aren’t bad. Az is bad though, so it is hard to see how it will teanslate to next week. We will need to keep contain, and our Oline will also need to play decently/TE/RB need to pick up rhe blitzes. Utah wins next week, but I doubt we just walk over them.

I feel better and better about what our Utes did this week. UW falls to a bad team, Stanford crunched by a meh team, Oregon survives Fresno. OSU less so. Washington St. TBD.
P12 south is looking solid though. Feeling a little better about our Utes. -

I think it was Tupai that lost contain a lot. He was consistently beating his guy, but penetrating too far in and opening up a lane for Wilson to run.

prestitute started the topic So, I see a lot of bemoaning the fact that Wilson is down south. in the forum Football 5 years, 12 months ago
I agree that he is really good, and I would have liked to see a lifelong Ute fan on the roster, but frankly, I think he would have been 3rd or 4th string had he signed (with Tuttle in the mix this fall as well). I would take Shelley or Huntley over Wilson at this point, and that is not a slight to Wilson. The kid is a gamer, but I don’t think he…[Read more]
