Great article. Thanks for sharing. If he is as good as the coaches project him to be, he could be one of the best “human interest” stories of the 2024 college football season.

I took notes on the computer, but lost it. So here is what I can remember:
Singer is WR1 and the best hands we have seen in a long time. The passing game goes through him.
Kuithe is looking good. He is one of the best receiving tight ends in college football. We have a very deep tight end room and you will see a lot of multiple tight end…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic Injuries at CB in the forum Football 3 months ago
A Dnews article this morning implies that the reason Randle moved to CB is because of some unnamed injuries at CB. Maybe, Blocker has suffered an injury. Unless it is season-ending – Whitt will never let us know. I hope Blocker has a minor injury and will eventually see time this fall.

ProudUte replied to the topic Depth Chart 👀: Gilman @ SS, Van & Logan co-starters, Dallen Bentley TE in the forum Football 3 months ago
Yeah, this surprises me. If they moved Randle over to CB and Blocker is not mentioned anywhere, you would have to assume that he is a bust. I suppose he could be injured, but I have not heard anything. I hope he has a minor injury and that we still see him this season.
Obviously, Bentley is doing very well to be listed as a starter is a deep…[Read more]

Thanks, Aloha. I didn’t know that.
I still think it would be fun to play in Dublin.

The ACC is using it for a conference game. The Big 10 did the same thing a few years ago. I would love it if Utah played in the game against a conference foe. It would be fun to play our game against BYU over there. I would try to make it. Good money and great publicity.

They just picked their CFP brackets. Utah was on all of them. Even McAfee had Utah in the at-large group. Again, it’s nice to get the publicity. It helps our brand and it certainly helps recruiting. Now, we need to prove it on the field.
Go Utes!!!

I love it. I am glad to hear that Ritchie is back to where he was in 2020 (probably stronger now). Bentley and Mitchell have been getting a lot of positive publicity since spring. Lomu was a highly recruited tackle. Sounds like he is ready to shine.

Actually, everyone on GameDay picked the Utes except McAfee. He picked West Virginia. I am not sure if he was joking or not. But, he did pick OSU as second.
Everyone talked about Cam coming back and that Utah is tough in the trenches. They also mentioned that Utah picked up some great wide receivers from the portal. They pointed out that the…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic What are your "This is Utah Football" moments? in the forum Football 3 months ago
Coming from behind and beating BYU 23-22 in 1978. That was the moment that I felt that Utah had started to turn the corner. The 80s had its challenges and then Mac came in and when the Utes won 34-31 in Provo, I knew things had changed.

Thanks for posting. I always enjoy listening to Cam Rising. Basically he confirms what we have been hearing – that we will pass more.

ProudUte replied to the topic What 2- or 3-deep player are you most excited to see vs SUU? in the forum Football 3 months ago
Isaac Wilson is on the top of my list. It would be fun to see Lohner catch a ball. I would like to see Fitgerald at Defensive End and some of our backup linebackers.
I am also anxious to see some of our new starters like our new safeties, Oline, etc.
Go Utes!!!

I always liked Trevor when he played here. But, he seems a little bitter in this interview. I hope things work out for him and he can land on his feet.

I’m an old guy and I don’t get excited about a lot anymore. But I have been looking forward to this season since the middle of last season. On paper, we have seemed to fill in most of our holes. Now, it’s time to deliver.

IMG is a high school football powerhouse. CC upset them last night 35-34.
Myles had three touchdown catches including the one hander that was posted earlier. We need to get this kid!!!

ProudUte started the topic Interesting thought on offense in the forum Football 3 months ago
I recently read an article that said Utah would have the best offense in the Big 12. Yet, a recent list of top ten offensive players in the Big 12 had no Utes on it and we didn’t even have anybody on the possible list. Cam Rising is ranked at best the 4th best QB in the league.
So, how is it that we have no offensive stars and yet could have…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic The Offense in the forum Football 3 months ago
Good stuff, but I don’t like:
The other change in Utah’s offense? There will be pretty much no designed quarterback runs as the Utes try to protect Rising more this year. That’s a big change, as Rising has rushed for over 800 yards in his career.
We lose a big weapon if Cam doesn’t run. I understand why they don’t want to run him. But, I thi…[Read more]
