I recently read an article that said Utah would have the best offense in the Big 12. Yet, a recent list of top ten offensive players in the Big 12 had no Utes on it and we didn’t even have anybody on the possible list. Cam Rising is ranked at best the 4th best QB in the league.

Good stuff, but I don’t like:
The other change in Utah’s offense? There will be pretty much no designed quarterback runs as the Utes try to protect Rising more this year. That’s a big change, as Rising has rushed for over 800 yards in his career.

I was before reading the article. It sounds like here is plenty of hitting. The approach was to give guys a rest day between practices. The first hit that Kuithe an Rising take will be interesting.

Never take an opponent lightly. But, we need to take care of business in the first half. Then give Isaac a series or two with the first-team offense. IMO it would be good for him to get reps with the first team.

It sounds like we are pretty healthy. In the article – Whitt discusses the new process and schedule that they used this camp. He also mentions that he would like to get Isaac Wilson a lot of playing time next Thursday night.

Interesting post. I see a few things that don’t fit in your over/under.
I think the 40 points per game seems about right. But, 1100 yards is less than 400 yards per game. If we score 40 points a game, I would think that we would average over 400 yards per game. If we have 850 yards passing per game, which seems about right, it would mean that…[Read more]

I agree to a point. But, the Florida game in 2022 was a bad game for Cam Rising. He was simply off-target (low) on many passes. It is one of his worst games as a Ute IMO and we still almost figured out a way to win.
