  • Fellow Utes, we are less than 90 days until our first game. I am excited for this season.
What do you think our strengths and weaknesses will be in 2024? Below are a few of my thoughts.

    Strengths

QB – We have an experienced QB who can pass, run and knows how to read defenses.
WR – This may be our best WR group in a long time.
TE – We have 4…[Read more]

  • I get what you are saying and I was not pleased with the Vincent score. However, there’s a big difference IMO.

Vincent was handed the ball up the middle. Vincent was our 5th string RB. Kind of hard to tell the kid not to try. Should we have taken a knee? IMO, yes.

Arizona put in their former QB1, who was back from an injury and he threw a…[Read more]

  • I don’t know but I don’t think so. I watched him early when he became the starter because of an injury to QB1. He wasamazing. I kept thinking that defensive coordinators will figure this kid out and he will not be as effective.

Well, that never happened. Yes, he is not big. The kid can play football. He was asked what does he have to do…[Read more]

  • Our defense was indeed terrible at Tuscon last season. However, many of our best players were not able to play in that game. We looked bad, but I highly doubt we will look that bad when we play them in SLC in game 5 in 2024.

The way that Arizona ended that game is a disgrace and poor sportsmanship. The coach is gone, but Whitt and the team…[Read more]

Thanks for taking the time to come here and post. Since the schedule came out – I have been saying that our toughest game may be our first Big12 game at Stillwater. That’s not exactly how I wanted to start the conference season.

It seems that you guys should be tough with one of the nation’s leading RBs returning. He ran for more yards last…[Read more]

Covey has done some kick returns and with the new kickoff rules, I expect him to do more.

Long-snapper is sometimes just a long snapper and sometimes plays another position. I honestly don’t know how many of the 32 NFL teams have a dedicated long snapper. You probably know.

Your detailed write-up on former Utes was excellent. I hope Huntley…[Read more]

  • Utah has a player in the NFL at every position group, i.e., QB, RB, TE, Oline, WR, Dline, LB. CB, Safetey, Punter, Kicker, returner.

I highly doubt that any other college has a player in every position group.

    Go Utes!!!

  • Super League

Utah comes in at a solid 15th ahead of Oregon, Texas, USC, etc. These forty teams will not be in a Super League because the list includes Boise and AFA. But, otherwise I like it.

Fans on the CB are discrediting the list like Trump discredits the 2020 election. “It cannot be true, because we are not on the list.”

    Honestly, I…[Read more]

  • Do you want Cam Rising to come back for the 2025 season?

  • I support a Utah – KState championship game. They do not play in the regular season, so it could be a fun game. It would be very fun if both were undefeated. However, I doubt the likelihood of that happening.

  • I thought it meant that he could have another year if he played 4 or less games this year, but admittedly – I did not get into the details.

  • I totally agree. Watching games on TV just got much worse.

  • Big 12 Games

Of course, our first game on Thursday is at night. The next two games are day games. Then, the two Friday games will be at night, including a late game at UCF.

    Football is getting closer. 🙂

  • Dallen Engemann, former Timpview QB and JUCO out of California, will be coming to Utah. I assume that he will be a PWO, but I don’t have the details. So, we get one more guy in theQB room.

I doubt that he will see action, but I like the idea of having another QB on the team.

    Go Utes!!!

  • You need to throw out the Texas game because we had key players not playing that game on defense and the offense was terrible that night. I am not sure that we had our heads in that game because of the implosion against the Ducks.

The USC game is interesting. They decided to throw deep all night long and Blackmon was not healthy in that game.…[Read more]

  • And I don’t think it is even close. I heard the other day that 12 players on our 2-deep played in the NFL. That’s amazing. We had three all-conference defensive linemen. Think about that. There are four defensive linemen, and there are 12 teams. That is just crazy.

The defense that season gave up an average of 269 yards per game and only 15…[Read more]

  • I would prefer the BIG to the Big 12 for obvious reasons. That would be great. However, I would really prefer that the PAC 12 had not imploded. I don’t like the travel to the east coast. It will be costly for our “Olympic” sports teams.

  • ProudUte replied to the topic Kool-Aid anyone? in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago

I like these guys, but they are definitely wearing crimson goggles. These guys say that this is the best Utah football team ever. I hope that will be true, but as of today – I don’t think so. 2004, 2008, 2019, and 2021 will be tough to beat.

I think we have the potential to be a very good team and make the CFP. However, I am not yet ready to…[Read more]

  • In 2021, we had Rising throwing to three excellent tight ends. We often played three tight end sets in 2021. This season we have three stud tight ends again in Kuithe, King, and Lyons. We have a handful of other tight ends who can play as well. Of course, we don’t have Covey, but we do have Singer, Money, Pitman, et al. Someone will have to…[Read more]

  • Yesterday, Bill Riley talked about a list of the top incoming QBs for the 2024 college football season. Rising was ranked 16th on the list. Riley was upset. He feels Rising deserves much better.

I kind of get the ranking. When he plays in 2024, he will have not played in 20 months. He suffered a major injury. This injury could possibly…[Read more]
