I do not totally agree. But, I gave you a thumbs-up for sharing what some may think is an unpopular opinion. I respect your opinion.

According to this – it’s a done deal.
It appears that he will have 3 years to play 3. His stats so far are not amazing. Hopefully, he has a great career in SLC.

Orion Phillips, the punter for Missouri is transferring to Utah. He averaged a solid 43.5 yards per punt. It appears he will be a junior in 2025.

He is a 6’2″ CB who was a former 4-star recruit to Louisville. He most recently played JC in Kansas. I like how tall he is. He had 6 interceptions last season. Hopfeully, he can come in an be an immediate impact player.

I don’t think it is appropriate for me to post something on a fan board about the specifics. I will leave it at that.

His off-the-field actions were more than just the locker room. I still believe he is a talented player. However, there is some baggage that I would not want if I was the coach.
Two weeks ago, I wanted him to stay. Now, I think it is better for Utah and Isaac if he moves on.
I wish him the best.

Well, he will only punt about 25% as much as he did here.
This has to be all about money.

No A’s for any of them unless we have at least a 70% TD success rate inside the Red Zone.

Weddle should come coach now at Utah and his son can play for the QB whisperer, coach Kjar at Corner Canyon.

I don’t think Harding is a poor coach. But, I do think that our offensive line has not been top-tier like we need to be to compete at this level. Just my uneducated opinion. I admit that I am limited in what I know about the Oline and their specific assignments.
Yes, Fano is getting a lot of positive pub right now. That’s a great thing!

As for me – I give it a grade of B. I kind of like Beck, but he was our third choice. I think Atuaia is a good get with some solid experience. Micah Simon may end up being good, but he lacks big-time experience. This is position group that needs help.
I would have changed the Oline coach. It seems like Harding has something on Whitt. I…[Read more]

I wanted Fesi to be our WR coach. I guess he is too tied to Kalani.

I have been pleased with our other new coaches. I think we could have done better at WR. He completed his playing career at BYU just 5 years ago. He has only one year as a WR coach, at UNM.
Maybe he will be great, but his resume is not too impressive.
It appears that Beck has a huge say in who will be coaching on the offense. All of these…[Read more]

Boumeister got too tired. He had to punt way too much and this was too hard on him. 🙂

ProudUte replied to the topic Looks like we're hiring Mark Atuaia from wazzu as RB coach in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I hope this is true. I liked Ganther when he played at Utah, but he has not been a great RB coach IMO.
Atuaia has a solid resume, so I hope it’s true. He has definitely resigned from WSU. However, there are some rumors he will be the OC for Bronco at USU.

It’s not a moral issue, IMO, and I do not blame a kid for looking for the most money he can get. Nothing wrong with that. It’s not the kids – it’s the system that has got our of hand.

ProudUte replied to the topic NIL and the portal might be the final straw for me in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I am fine with the concept of NIL. I think it is great that a kid gets paid for selling his jersey or doing an add for a local company. Paying a kid for his his NIL is fine. But, offering a kid 7 million before he has ever played a game …
I can only speak for me, and for me the entire NIL/portal thing has gotten out of hand and starting to…[Read more]

I have been a huge college sports fan since I was a young kid. I loved the days when a young man stayed all four years at a school, i.e., Van Horn, Doleac, Miller, Jensen, Weddle, Moss, et al. You get to know the players and become big fans of them.
The NIL and portal have killed that. Now the best teams will be those with the richest donors…[Read more]

Thanks, Jim. Nice post.
From time to time, I need to sit back and realize how blessed I am. This past football season was painful for me. But I hurt for those people in the hills of North Carolina who lost so much in the hurricane, and now snow and bad weather.
