Arizona had a very good year. They were 3-4 plays from being undefeated. They were creative on defense against USC and UW. Once Fifita came in their offense turned around. Fifita may be small but he proved himself against very good teams.

Great educational opportunity. What surprises me is that Cal will not transfer any credits from Utah. This is a problem for Cal and Stanford. Maybe Cal has loosened up a bit.

From the 2023 roster we have:
– 6 players with no more eligibility left
– 5 underclassmen declaring for the NFL draft
– 16 players who entered the portal
This means we have at least 27 scholarship players who will not be on the 2024 roster.

Who do we have coming in:
– So far 7 players are coming to Utah via the portal

I understand that his injury was to his foot. It was not a major knee or shoulder injury. Everyone gets injured in football. He does not have a history of any major injuries as far as I know.

I talked to a close family member today and he said Lander is ready to play. He could have played in the bowl game. But, the family and coaches did not want to take the risk.

He also said (no surprise) that Lander will be leaving for the NFL next year at this time.

I hope Barton has an All-American season in 2024 and ends up a first-round draft pick.

Hey, I hope Utah is a top-25 (even top-10) team next season. But the coaching staff has a lot of work to do to get us there.

I agree. I will always love being a Ute fan. I admit that this season with all the injuries and turmoil was challenging.

Next season will not be a total rebuild like 2020. But, we do have to do some rebuilding and improving at WR, Safety, and Corner. We also need to develop a good backup QB. I think Wilson will eventually be the guy, but I…[Read more]

In today’s college football, most guys who have a chance to play in the NFL next season sit out the bowl games. Good for Bo for staying loyal to his team. He had nothing to gain by playing today.

What can you say? Blame the coaches? Too many injuries? Too many guys sitting out? Poor preparation?

I figured that we might lose. But, this game leaves a bad taste in my mouth. There is NO excuse for that offensive effort. It was so bad, that it makes me wonder about Ludwig, our offense in 2024, etc.

Our offensive effort is worse than pathetic. Barnes is playing worse than he has all season.

I cannot remember a worse offensive effort in the 60 years I have been watching the Utes. There may have been worse, but I honestly cannot remember. The OSU game this season was bad but not this bad. So much for the next man up mentality.

I really have no clue. On the one hand, you would think that with three healthy RBs, we will run 80% of the time. However, since the game is nearly meaningless, maybe Whitt and Ludwig will open it up. Who knows? I do expect Bernard to get 3-5 receptions.
