This is pure speculation on my part, but I really like Hunter Andrews. He is an all-around good athlete like Kuithe, Weddle, Lloyd, etc. He averaged over 9 yards per carry as a Texas HS running back. He is projected to play LB for Utah or maybe tight end or defensive end.

What do we know? Admittedly, it is tough to make comparisons because so many guys will not be playing because of injuries, portal, and the NFL. However, this is what I have found.

I am good with him. We do a good job with running backs. He has some experience and should hit the ground running. I doubt he is the only back we pick up.

As I posted above, I have no problem with him choosing to go to BYU. If he feels comfortable there, then that is where he should go. I was just curious as to what changed his mind. just a month ago or less he was listed as 100% Utah.

247 Sports now lists him as 100% to BYU. I hate to lose legacy kids like this, but if he feels that BYU is better for him – so be it.

Well, du to injuries, etc. – not close at all.

Here are the top 12 from last summer:

Cam Rising – Didn’t play
Kingsly Suamatia (BYU) Played but BYU’s Oline was terrible. He was not a top-ten player.
Brant Kuithe – Didn’t play
Cole Bishop – He is in the right spot.

Our running game has the potential to be pretty good. JJ will be starting with Glover and Bernard playing too. I know two linemen will be sitting out because of the NFL draft. But, we are supposed to have depth.

True. I assumed his estate was still providing money to OSU. But, I admit that I don’t know. I did go out and search his donations and he gave over a billion to OSU in his lifetime. I am not sure if the estate is still donating or not.

I agree that there is enough smoke that something is going on with JJ behind the scenes. If Ok State wants him – we likely will not be able to compete with T Boone Pickens and all of his money. I don’t see anything that indicates Jackson has officially entered the portal. The team will travel later today to Vegas. Will Jackson be on the plane? Will he come back next season?

I admit that I do not know much about who will be in the 2024 NBA draft. But, I have to think that Carlson with his height and skills should be drafted in the mid to late first round.

I really appreciate it that most of my fellow Ute fans were respectful when two of our players transferred to our rival like last season. Most wished them well and I do not remember any Ute fans trashing them.

Whitt has specifically stated that Rose could play in the bowl game and it would NOT affect his medical redshirt status.

This is probably true with Rising and Kuithe as well. But, there is NO chance of these two guys playing.

I agree that Barnes has done a lot for this team and I would like to see him go out with a win. That being said, we saw what happened with our offense in 2023 with QBs not prepared to play. (We all know the stories of what happened.) I want Rose to be prepared to take the reigns next season if Cam goes down. He needs as many reps as possible…[Read more]

I struggle with understanding why we are starting Barnes. I love what Barnes did for this team, and maybe he is the best QB we have today. But, half of our team is gone due to the NFL, portal, and injuries.
