McAfee is giving the Utes a lot of love on the Utah campus. Alex Smith was just on and Steve Smith and Cam Rising are coming up.
A big, loud crowd has shown up. It has been entertaining.

ProudUte replied to the topic Dalton Kincaid With His Fist NFL TD in the forum NFL 1 year ago
He was interviewed live on SportsCenter last night. They asked him if he was going to SLC for the big game. He wasn’t sure if he would make it or not. Someone suggested he could fly out with Herby since he did color for the Bills game last night.
He ended the interview by flashing the “Utes” hand signal and saying, “Go Utes!”
What a great…[Read more]

Why isn’t Utah releasing the uniforms for the Oregon game? Do we get a competitive advantage by not letting Oregon know what we will be wearing? 😉

ProudUte started the topic Article explaining the facts of Kuithe's injury in the forum Football 1 year ago
A big part of this article is in Kuithe’s own words. I now understand what he has been through. He has had some tough breaks along the way. I hope he can get 100% healthy and play football again.

Excellent!!! Thanks for sharing.
Utah is getting a lot of positive publicity this week and will get a lot more this Saturday morning. All of this is great for the program and should give us a boost in recruiting.
I think most high school kids think they could play both ways in college.

ProudUte started the topic Article discussing Vaki's future playing time in the forum Football 1 year ago
Based on what I have seen, he belongs on the offense. He can do so many things. He is by far our best offensive weapon.
There were times against Cal and USC when he was sucking wind. I am not sure he can continue to go both ways and be effective. Coach Shah said that this is giving other players in the safety room an opportunity to…[Read more]

After Saturday, chances for a repeat Heisman are all but eliminated, there is no chance for USC to play in the CFP. What else do they have to play for???
As I posted earlier this week – Caleb Williams is all about Caleb Williams. He doesn’t give a crap about USC except for what it can do for him. He will likely be picked #1 in the NFL draft,…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Who Has a Better Offense, USC or Oregon? in the forum Football 1 year ago
I think Oregon has the better offense.
I would agree with you that Caleb is a better athlete than Nix. I would even agree that USC has better wide receivers. I don’t completely agree with your assessment of the RBs, but I will accept that they may be equal. (Tough to tell because of the way they are used at USC.)
So, why is Oregon better?…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic Article on Bryson Barnes in the forum Football 1 year ago
Here is a nice article from Josh Furlong on Barnes.
This is a great time for Barnes to get the publicity. I am sure that he will be the main story on GameDay this Saturday. How does it get any better than a kid from a small pig-farming town making it big and upsetting USC and the reigning Heisman Trophy winner (in LA)? He comes from a school…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic Based on the spread and the O/U – The score will be 28-21. in the forum Football 1 year ago
The over-under is 49 and the spread currently sits at 6.5. I like the fact that they are projecting the total points to be 49. This means that they do not expect an offensive blowout. The odds makers think that Utah’s defense will step up.
They also do not have a lot of faith in Utah’s offense and that makes sense. However, our new weapon…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Update on Oregon Schedule in the forum Football 1 year ago
Tech had that game won and folded in the last few minutes. Oregon kicked a FG with just over a minute to go to gain a 1-point lead. Tech threw a pick-6 with a few seconds left to give Oregon a 38-30 victory. By the way, Texas Tech is not a great team.
A couple of things Tech did against Oregon.
1. They kept Oregon’s running game in check. If…[Read more]

He was on Talking Utes Sunday night with Vele. He is HUGE! I decided to go back and read his history. He was not even first-team all-state his senior year. He was a three-star recruit. Utah has developed this young man into a potential All-American. Because of injuries, he won’t be an All-American this season and he may decide to go to the…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Vele talked about the QB situation on Talking Utes in the forum Football 1 year ago
He didn’t question the coaches. He said it was what it was. The team just didn’t know who would start.
Who is to blame for all of this? You could name a lot of people. Whitt admitted yesterday that he would have done things differently had he known what he now knows. So, how close was Cam to being ready to play? Obviously, Whitt and Ludwig…[Read more]
