I love what I saw with Vaki last Saturday. I hope he gets at least 10 carries and a couple of catches against USC. However, whenever he is in the game – USC will stack the box. We need to do some play-action when he is lined up as a back. Also, it would be fun to see him pass the ball out of the wildcat package.

Riley said that Cam called him and said that he did not feel comfortable doing the weekly interview today.

I imagine it would be difficult to do these weekly interviews under the circumstances. Everyone can read into it what they want.

This is a tough one for me. On the one hand, Rising has proven to be a great player and leader on the field. Why wouldn’t you want him back? Big 12 Rankings

This really doesn’t mean a lot, but it’s interesting that Utah is number 1. Even with our pathetic offense, we are seen as the best team of the future Big 12. I think our team could be very good next year if most of our defense decides to stay and not go pro.

The offense put up the best numbers of the season. Barnes played a good game.

Vaki had a great game and averaged over 10 yards per carry. Jackson played well too. Had a lot to do with the Oline.

The defense did great and forced two turnovers.

USC is an interesting team. Many will look at the score of the ND game (48-20) and say that USC’s defense was terrible. The truth is, they only allowed 251 total yards. ND scored a lot of points because of 5 turnovers and a kickoff return for a TD. One of the turnovers was a scoop-and-score and one interception took them to the 2-yard line. I…[Read more]

I was overall pleased with our win yesterday. Here are my thoughts:

The Good

– The score
– Tag team running backs of Jackson and Vaki. (I am very impressed with Vaki.)
– Our rushing defense was once again stellar. We held a very good running team to 69 yards.

I really like what he did today.

I felt that we needed to do some different things if we were going to win games going forward. They made a great change with Vaki. He is fast and strong.

I am not a big Coach Prime fan, but I don’t hate him either. I do respect a coach who takes responsibility after a loss.
