Florida decided to fly into SLC on Wednesday and leave right after the game. They were told that the less time you spend at high elevation the better. But, a hurricane is to hit Florida on Wednesday. So, now they will fly to Texas on Tuesday and then to SLC on Wednesday. I have to think that this will mess up some of their game-week preparation.

The season is here. We have never had an SEC team here in SLC before. We didn’t play well last year. It’s a big challenge for the Utes.

USC’s first four conference games are against Stanford, ASU, CU, and Arizona. They will likely be 6-0 and ranked in the top 5 at that point. Then they play Notre Dame in South Bend followed by Utah, Cal, UW, Oregon, and UCLA. They may end up 9-3 or even 8-4.

I thought USC would be better, especially on defense in their second year under LR. But, I was unimpressed with their D and the offense even with all their weapons lacked the potency I expected. I was thinking last night how happy I am to be a Ute fan. I have been cheering for the Utes for over 60 years and have never looked back. I am excited about this season, not because I think we will go 15-0. I suspect we will have a few hiccups along the way. I am just excited to see this group of kids play.

At the half against a very good Lone Peal team- Wilson has 5 touchdown passes and over 250 yards. He has also run the ball well. He threw two TD passes that were strikes that went 50 yards in the air. This kid knows how to play football.
