Mark Harlan was on ESPN700 and said:

    – We need to get all the fans in the stadium before kickoff. He wants to show a full house when ESPN starts its telecast. He understands that a Thursday night game is a bit tricky, but says we need a full stadium at 6:00 PM.

    – It’s a wear “RED” game. He wants the nation to see a sea of red in RES.

    – They…[Read more]

  • Eagle, I am with you. I always wanted one of the young guys to be QB2 so we could build for 2024. But, Whitt has made it clear that Barnes is the guy. So, if he starts against Florida, I will be a big Barnes fan. 🙂 I hope to see Johnson in the game 5-10 plays.

  • No one on here knows for sure if Cam will play or not, or maybe more important – how capable is he to play?

Let’s assume for a moment that Cam on game day is at the same level he was for the Oregon game last season and was not able to execute the entire playbook. Would you rather Cam play at 75% or would you rather have Barnes play?

    As for me -…[Read more]

No gloom and doom for me. I have posted consistently that I think we can still beat Florida and Baylor without Rising. And, if we don’t – oh well.

Are we better with Rising? Absolutely!

  • Notes from the Cam Rising interview:

It’s starting to feel real. He is excited to get back on the field.

His assessment is – we are right where we need to be. “Trust the process!”

Camp is challenging, Whit is focussing on mental toughness.

Always have to reinstall the offense because there are new players. It’s good for the experienced…[Read more]

  • Notes from an interview with the Florida play-by-play guy, Shane Matthews:

He believes that the Gators are much better than last season (this surprises me).

He likes the new QB even though his stats at Wisconsin are not amazing. He said that his stats say more about Wisconsin’s offense.

Two solid running backs returning this season.

    The…[Read more]

Yes, Covey took over two years to be 100%.

  • ProudUte started the topic Kuithe??? in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

I doubt I will get an answer on this board. But, I will ask anyway.

Kuithe was injured almost 11 months ago. However, all the reports suggest that he will not be ready to play on August 31. What has gone wrong in his rehab? Do we expect him back for the UCLA game? Will he be able to play at all this season? I hope for his sake that he gets…[Read more]

  • ProudUte replied to the topic Utah underrated in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

If Kuither, Rising, and Rose were all healthy – I would feel good about it. I think we can still win our first two games, but it will be much more challenging without Rising and Kuithe.

  • You seem to know what you are talking about, so I assume you are right. However, a Dnews article just last week said that he still wasn’t on a scholarship. (Seemed odd to me.) Their info may have been outdated and wrong.

  • I think you may see it on third and short or inside the five.

  • The only shock is the Rose injury. The rest was at least somewhat suspected. It is what it is. Now the other guys need to step it up and lead us to victory.

    Go Utes!!!

  • It is not ideal, but I don’t think Cam can be close to 100%. Ludwig needs to make a game plan that allows Barnes to use his skills. He is not my first choice, but the kid has some athletic ability and he is familiar with our system. The interesting thing is that I hear Barnes still doe not have a scholarship.

  • if Cam cannot go. He just said this in an interview with Josh Furlong.

He also said that Johnson will play.

  • ProudUte started the topic Miles Battle in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

    Nice article on Miles Battle.

    My favorite quote:

“I want to be known as long, rangy, lockdown corner; be able to play inside and out, and I feel like I could do that here with the defense that we play,” Battle said. “I could lock down inside, lock down outside, no matter where I am on the field. Just do my job and lock down that receiver.”

Most of the drive to Park City is on I80. It’s not a difficult ride at all. Some of the other ski resorts are up windy canyons. Park City is an easy drive (unless it’s snowing). It is a great place to stay.

  • ProudUte replied to the topic ACL surgery in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

Yes. Look at Covery in 2019. He had surgery in December the previous year. He tried to play a few plays early on, but ended up sitting the rest of the season. He wasn’t really himself in the shortened 2020 season either. But, he came back strong in 2021.

I wish the best for Rising and Kuithe (especially in the long term).

  • ProudUte replied to the topic Visiting Gator fan in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

I am glad you are making the trip. I was at Gainsville last September. I hope you enjoy your trip.

    Go Utes!

  • ProudUte replied to the topic ACL surgery in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

I agree with your assessment. I have told people that if Cam cannot go in the early games that he gets to play 10-15 snaps against Weber so he can be game-ready for UCLA.

I agree with you on Baylor. We need to win that game in the trenches. Our Oline needs to open some holes for JJ, Bernard, Glover, et al. Our Dline needs to stop the run and…[Read more]

  • Bishop has to be close to the top 100 IMO.

I hope Kuithe gets healthy and has an amazing season and is picked in the first round like his partner Kincaid was.
