Nice article about O’Toole.
O’Toole
“It’s awesome. You see all the great guys that have come through the program. They’ve set a standard,” he said. “It’s not an easy standard to reach but everyone knows the standard in the room and we try to live up to it every day. You go back and watch the film from years ago and the whole D-line always stic…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Recruits can now take as many official visits as they want in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
Previously, a high school recruit could take five (paid) visits. Effective August 1st, a high school football player can visit as many schools as he wants. He cannot make two (paid) visits to the same school. How will this affect recruiting?
The world of college football as we knew it has changed. (I am not saying that it is all bad. But, it…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic New NCAA football rules – Coach Whitt weighs in in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
I was not aware that they had changed some rules to speed up the game.
Coach Whitt Weighs in on New Rules
I am okay with the latest changes but I do not want to change it to the same rules as the NFL where there is no stopping the clock on first down, even in the last two minutes. Apparently, Whitt wants college football to follow the NFL model. -
ProudUte started the topic Some ideas for the portal and NIL in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
There need to be some changes made to the portal and NIL, if we want to see college football, continue to be viable. Below are a few ideas. I am not a lawyer, just a college football fan.
1. Make a cap on NIL money. (Maybe 250 K per year with a bonus if you stay at least three years.)
2. Players must sign a contract that would prevent them from…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Kuithe is not getting a lot of love in 2024 draft projections in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
They say he will get drafted in the 6th or 7th round. I don’t get it.
Going into the 2022 season, he was considered our top receiver, even higher than Kincaid who was picked in the first round. Are the prognosticators concerned about his injury? Do they think he is not a real tight end?
I have always been a huge Kuithe fan and I hope he has…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Epps is now staying at BYU in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
The word on the street is that he had some interesting NIL offers so he put his name in the portal early enough to be able to play this fall. Some rich BYU donors stepped up and matched the offers. He is now staying.
I can’t blame the BYU donors for doing what they did. Epps is a very good WR. Keeping him is a big deal. -
ProudUte started the topic Are college teams breaking the rules when it comes to the portal and NIL? in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
First of all – I am not sure there are a lot of rules.
Second, I am quite sure the NCAA is doing very little investigating.
This brings up the question. Let’s say there was a company in Alabama that offered Kincaid a million if he transferred to Alabama. The offer was not made directly to Dalton, but possibly a parent or a sibling. Let’s assume…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Best article I have read on the 2023 Utes in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
This is a great article about the 2023 team. Whitt talked about Cam’s status:
“He’s throwing already. He’s ahead of schedule with his rehab. We don’t want to push it because if you do that, you end up with chronic soreness and swelling,” Whittingham said. “To this point, he’s doing great. We fully expect to have him for the opener, certainly, un…[Read more] -

He is a former Oregon WR that played at Florida State last year. His stats are not that impressive.

Tony gets a big win. His final day partner was Rahm (the hottest golfer in the world). This win has to boost Tony’s confidence going forward. It is his 6th PGA win and 2nd this season.

ProudUte started the topic Mohamoud Diabate signs with the Browns in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
Looks like he signed a contract guaranteeing 250K. So, he may make the team.
Jason Shelly has been invited to the Commander’s minicamp.
I am shocked that Noah Sewell was not picked until the 5th round. He was projected as a first-rounder about a year ago. I am not sure if he had some injuries. -
ProudUte started the topic Two years in a row – the Utes have a 1st round pick in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
Who will be the Ute picked in the 1st round next year – to make it three in a row?
The best possibility is Kuithe. If he has a great year and stays healthy – he could be a 1st round pick.
I think Jackson will play on Sundays, but he is new at RB and it’s tough to be a 1st rounder as a running back.
Pepa should also play on Sundays, but I don’t…[Read more] -

Two wide receivers entered the portal including Gilmore and Reed(sp) Bartle expected this.
We need to get some WRs from the portal. The biggest priority is with WR. Getting another tight end would help.
Riley thinks we need to get a safety in the portal because Ritchie’s injury status is unknown.

Thought the game went as planned. No injuries.
QB2 not selected yet. Yet to be determined.
Johnson missed a third of the spring practice.
Rose has a good command of the offense. He can play without overthinking things. His trajectory from day 1 to the end of camp was excellent.
Like what he saw from Mikey Matthews. Great quickness and good…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic The good, the bad, and the ugly from the spring game in the forum Football 1 year, 7 months ago
I should say first – there isn’t typically much you can learn from a spring game.
The good – I like what I saw from JQJ at running back and I liked that he caught a few balls. I like what I saw from Mikey Matthews. He is not afraid to take a hit. It’s hard to judge, but I liked what I saw from Battle at CB.
The bad – I detect a small limp from…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic Why 4-star QB Isaac Wilson is Utah's most important recruit in the forum Football 1 year, 7 months ago
This is a headline in 247 Sports. So what do you all think? Is he the guy we want? I have seen him play and he is talented. It would be fun to get him just to make some of the crazy BYU fans upset. I am not sure the baggage (his mom) is worth his talent.
