ProudUte started the topic Game Day talks about the chaos in the portal in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
They compared it to how the NFL does things. In the NFL there are very strict rules on free agency. The players union and the owners have come together to have a defined process.
There are very few rules governing the portal and there is virtually nothing to protect the teams. The portal has become a free-for-all in my opinion.
There need to…[Read more] -

We Utes know how hard it is to lose a player. This is very sad. Condolences to Sione’s family.

ProudUte started the topic Texas is doing a good job with Penix in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
They are keeping pressure on him. They aren’t sacking him but making him feel uncomfortable in the pocket. We should learn from this because we have these guys on the road next season.
UW has done enough to take a 13-3 lead at the half. But, Texas needs to run and their top two RBs aren’t playing tonight -

That comes as a surprise to me. Regardless, we should be deep at safety.

He is getting closer to a decision. He is getting pressure from the coaches and recruiting staff.

ProudUte started the topic Nice article about the Utes going to two consecutive Rose Bowls in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
It’s found in KSL
KSL Article
In short, Utah’s transformation from a middling WAC program to a Pac-12 power has been nothing short of remarkable. Spread the credit around, from Whittingham to his predecessors Urban Meyer and Ron McBride, along with the university administration, the actual players and, yes, you the fan. -

Also, we play USC, OSU, and UW on the road.

The PAC12 could be very good next year.
– USC returns Heisman winner Williams and looks to have improved overall.
– Oregon returns Heisman candidate Bo Nix and they have improved their team via recruiting and the portal.
– UW’s Penix is the best QB in the league IMO and he is returning. They were 10-2 this season. They look to be very good in…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Thanks to those who sponsor Talkin' Utes in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
It helps the players with NIL money and I love the interviews each week with the players. It’s a great show and helps the program.
Thanks!!!

I know this season has not been exactly what many of us expected/hoped, but we won another PAC12 championship and are going to the Rose Bowl for the second straight year. It’s good to be a Ute football fan in 2022.
Go Utes!!!

ProudUte started the topic Kuithe says that he is 50/50 rather he goes or not in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
He said he will make the decision on what is best for him. That is completely fair. I wish him well regardless. He did say that if everyone stays who can stay – the Utes could be an undefeated team next year.
All of this being said, how are his and others’ decisions holding Whitt hostage as far as the portal recruiting goes? As Bartle said…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic My dream start to the Rose Bowl in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
I like to be aggressive on offense to start games (like Alabama in 2009). I hope we get the ball first. Here are some plays I would like to see to start the game.
1. Have Johnson and Rising in the game. Cam line up at QB but motions out to the left. Johnson shifts into the QB position, takes the snap, and runs to the right (hopefully gains…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic Eric Weddle said if he was Phillips – he would play in the Rose Bowl in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
That is the type of competitor Eric Weddle is. He will give everything he has all the time. He kept playing in the Super Bowl after an early injury that would have kept almost everyone else out. AT the end of his career at Utah, he was playing defense, special teams, and offense. He did whatever it took to help his team.
I am not judging…[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic It appears that Cam Rising will be leaving in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
He said that it is his intention to leave. He did say that there is a chance he could stay. However, it sounds like his heart and head are gone.
I would love to have an experienced QB to help us with our challenging starting games against Florida and Baylor. However, Cam needs to do what is best for him Whatever he decides, I support…[Read more] -

ProudUte started the topic The reason why Utah is doing so well with recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
According to the CB – because they cannot understand why any young man would choose Utah over BYU.
1. We are offering up to 500k in NIL money. I do not believe this for a moment. I think we have improved our NIL status with businesses and donors, but not to the point that we are promising 500K to some players.
2. Coach Whitt lies to recruits. …[Read more] -
ProudUte started the topic Raider Damuni coming to Utah? in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
CB is reporting that Raider Damuni is flipping on BYU and coming to Utah. He was in the 2021 class from Timpview. So, I guess he is a returned missionary. He had a 247 rating of 90.
Has anyone heard anything?

ProudUte started the topic 60 in 60 – Now the season is over in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
Of the top ten list of players in Utah, only four would probably make the final top ten due to injury and/or poor play. The four who would still be on the list are: Cam Rising, Jaron Hall, Clark Phillips, and Blake Freeland. Phillips would have to be my number one. He was picked third behind Rising and Hall. Freeland got some AA mentions and…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic OnlyU, are we done or are there some more presents coming? in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
I see we now have an overall recruiting ranking of 21 when considering high school kids and portal kids.
I really want to get Holker. He is a tight end that could immediately be a difference-maker at Utah.
It would be nice if Blocker flipped back to Utah too. - Load More
