  • The Oline did a heckuva job last Saturday.
The atmosphere at senior night was excellent.  He loved his time at Utah.  His family was pumping him up before the game.  He said that doesn’t normally happen.
His best memories at Utah are: Covey’s punt return against the Ducks and the come-from-behind victory against USC.
    They have made mistakes…[Read more]

  • Dillingham has done an amazing job for the Ducks this year.  He is only 32.  He did go to ASU and was an offensive assistant at ASU for one season.  Is ASU willing to take a chance on a young coach like Dillingham?

  • He said the last player he would take seriously in an interview would be Huston.  He isn’t saying that he is lying, but …
Everyone seems to think that the line changed because of Huston’s comments.
He also said that he knows that Nix is taking reps in practice this week.
He honestly doesn’t know if Nix will play or not.  Lanning is like KW in…[Read more]

  • I certainly would prefer that Utah beat Oregon at its best.  However, every team has key injuries this time of year including us.  We have to deal with our own injuries and make adjustments based on the opposing team’s injuries.  We have all seen games when a star DB goes out with an injury and the QB immediately goes after the replacement.  I am…[Read more]

  • I am not a gambler, so I don’t know if it means anything.  They had been showing Oregon at -3 since Sunday morning.  Have they pulled it based on questions concerning Bo Nix?
I did check some Vegas sites and they are showing -2.5 or -3.  It just seems odd that ESPN stopped showing the line or the O/U.

I listened to a PAC12 Podcast that suggested that Utah is not a good road team.  They pointed out that we are 1-3 against the spread on the road.  That is not good.
If you take off your crimson glasses – what do you all think?  Can the Utes beat a very good team on the road?  Obviously, we can but is playing at Autzen going to be a difficult…[Read more]

  • He won’t say anything specific about Nix and the injured offensive linemen.
“I’m not going to share really any update with anyone,” Lanning said. “We came away dinged in that game. I will say that I feel lot more positive today getting to hear some news on where things are at right now.”
I guess most college coaches are mum about injuries…[Read more]

Mentioned the tragic situation at Virginia.  Also mentioned the fan who lost his life at the game Saturday.  Football is not as important as these kinds of things.
Had a slow start on Saturday, but that doesn’t matter because we scored 6 of our last 7 drives.
The defense played excellently and only allowed Stanford less than 200 yards.
    The…[Read more]

  • UW was able to beat Oregon because of their prolific passing attack.  Penix is an excellent QB that leads the nation in passing yards.  Oregon is one of the worst-ranked passing defenses.  Penix was able to exploit Oregon’s weakness.
Utah does not have the passing offense that UW has.  However, we have a better running game.  If Tavion is playing…[Read more]

  • ESPN shows the game on Friday.  Utah’s website shows Saturday.

  • This game appears to be a good matchup with two evenly-matched teams.  Here are the numbers.
Oregon averages 42.7 points per game and Utah 39.5.
Oregon gives up 27.4 points per game and Utah 20.
Utah averages 65 fewer yards per game on offense than Oregon, but we give up 70 yards fewer per game.
We both have 8-2 records with one conference…[Read more]

  • We are ranked 10th behind Alabama and Clemson.  USC is now 6th.  Oregon dropped to 13th and UCLA to 16th.  UW is now 15th.
We are the third-highest two-loss team behind LSU and Alabama.  (not bad)
I believe we are getting a lot of respect in the polls.

  • I saw that Glover was dressed last night and even got in the game (no runs).  However, I did not see Jackson.  I hope his injury is not too bad.  We could really use him.  It appears that Tavion is back physically and mentally.  But, we need some depth.  Bernard does not appear to be 100%.
Also, it appears from this quote that Tavion will not be…[Read more]

  • Oregon was the last hope for this season.  It’s amazing that in a dozen years of PAC12 football, no one team has gone undefeated in conference play.  It shows how difficult it is to be at your best for nine weeks of conference games.  Too bad our Utes blew that OSU game last season.

  • BYU fans on CB like to post anything they can that is anti-Utah when their football team is struggling.  They will attack our academic programs, smaller stadium, cheerleaders, mascot, or anything else University of Utah related.  My favorite was this post about Whittingham this morning.  You can tell when their football team is not playing well -…[Read more]

  • I think that first quarter, we looked like we were looking forward to Oregon assuming we could just beat Stanford.  The second half was a thing of beauty.
I thought UW could give Oregon a game, but I never thought AZ would upset UCLA.

  • 1. Rising closer to 100%.  I would like him to get back into the groove and regain his confidence.  Then, I would like to see him sit the entire second half.
    2. Tavion back to the Tavion we know he can be.
    3. A healthy Jackson who gets 5-10 runs.
    4. Kincaid plays, even if he is just a decoy.  We need him going forward.
    5. The defense gains…[Read more]

Get out of the tailgate early tonight and be in the stadium 15 minutes early  We need a full house when they introduce the seniors.  These are the guys who won the PAC12 championship and took us to a Rose Bowl.  They deserve an amazing sendoff!!!
    Go Utes!!!

  • Just because he can kick it into the endzone.  I don’t know anything about his ability to kick field goals.
Lehi up 35-0 at the half in the 5A semifinals.

His knee keeps improving.  He wasn’t wearing a brace today.
The knee was on his mind when he played against AZ.  However, he does not want to make any excuses.
With it being wet on Saturday, they wanted to get the run game going.  12 guys carried the ball last week.
Nate Johnson is the (self-proclaimed) fastest guy on the team.  He also has a…[Read more]
