Heaps either skipped or dogged it during practices, refused to participate in strength and conditioning training during the off season, thought he should get preferential treatment all the time, etc. The few rare times we have players act like him they either get their butts kicked by other players and coaches, fall off the depth chart, or…[Read more]

True, but it would make them hilariously uncomfortable. Or else it would reinforce their persecution complex. Either way it would be a memorable beatdown.

I suspect we will have over 3200 yds of passing this year (for the first time since Brian Johnson beat Alabama), but it will be distributed across 12-15 or more receivers. I don’t see any single receiver getting more than 700-ish yards in Troy Taylor’s system.
Even Washington State doesn’t have receivers go over 800 or so, even though they had…[Read more]

A big part of the reason they were so dominant in the old WAC was their budget for the Athletic Dept was nearly twice as large as the nearest competitors, and was many times larger than the AD of the lower level competitors. They threw big money into athletics and they dominated as a result.
Note their AD has always been self-sufficient because…[Read more]

Based on this video, 100% of Canada’s yards come after contact. He was hit in the backfield on nearly every play, and still put up 315 yards behind a porous OL. I will admit that is very impressive.

And our coaching staff won’t allow him to continue doing that. Whittingham has a great track record of coaching up players, getting them to buy in to the Family and System, and kicking their asses if they let down their teammates.
Perhaps a change of environment, coaching staff, and players will be the motivation Carrington needs to succeed.…[Read more]

TD would be a backup QB coach on our staff.

If we close out the SEZ then there is a good chance we can be as loud as Autzen. Right now the NEZ can be absolutely deafening at field level.
Also, the SEZ is going to fall down one of these days, and it has to be replaced anyhow. May as well add new seats along with the new locker rooms.
Numbers alone don’t matter, imo.

There is zero chance that Tuttle or Shelley will start ahead of Huntley next year. I expect Huntley will see significant time on the field this year, and probably will play in every game.

Josh Gordon showed up just in time to start classes in Sept, never really dressed for the games, left the team in early November, and declared for the draft in Jan. He didn’t even attend his classes and tried to get away with the same garbage he learned at Baylor.
If Carrington misses any classes, or any training sessions, or ever dogs it in…[Read more]

I wish he had been suspended for the 4th quarter of those games…
**edit** and the worst thing about the altercation with the fan is that guy was a Ducks fan who travelled from Texas to watch the game.

Kyle told the ref that he wanted a TO as soon as the next play was blown dead. The ref immediately called timeout, and wouldn’t take it back.
That cost us one additional play at the end of the game, where we likely would have punched it in.

Javelin was the #1 Safety in the state of California, and also set a state record for the 100M (10.13s). He also won the 100m at State in Texas as a JR, where he set the 2nd fastest time in history (he moved to CA after his JR year in Texas). The kid who came in 2nd to him at State in TX holds the state record, set earlier in the year.
He is…[Read more]

Typically the FCS teams who beat FBS/P5 teams are very good at an aspect of the game that is a weakness for their opponent, and then get the ball to bounce the right way a few times.
EWU beat WSU last year because they were clicking on all cylinders from the opening kickoff, and WSU’s defense didn’t come into its own until the 2nd or 3rd game of…[Read more]

A DUI is less of an issue, and can be avoidable in the future. See Nai Fotu. (The player who entered the freeway the wrong way down an offramp – thanks Hammer)
But Carrington’s DUI was the last in a long line of straws, including getting into a fight with a Ducks fan who ended up with a broken arm. He should have been suspended for that last…[Read more]
