Puget Ute replied to the topic Best Games by a QB in the state of Utah this year: in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
Wilson’s 18-18 was the MOST EFFICIENT game in FBS bowl history. But that does not mean it was the BEST performance in any way. The byu-P receivers were easily able to get separation against the WMU defenders, but Zacky still had to make the reads and make the throws.
As somebody mentioned, Tyler Huntley is top 10 in passing efficiency in FBS. That…[Read more] -

Those are all rumors. The only fact is “Jayden Daniels chose to go to ASU”. Everybody speaking for his mom are purely speculating.

“reverse racism”? Whoever said that is an absolute, fucking moron who doesn’t deserve to get quoted, ever again.

Then you are going to LOVE Micah Bernard. He is an RB with great speed, vision, and agility. And he has hands like Devontae Booker.

I have to say it will be fun to have the fastest WR form the State of Florida on the team next year. It might be fun to see him race against the Texas and California 100m record holder, Javelin Guidry.
And how fun will it be to say to 6’8″ Darren Jones, “DJ, go post up on that Safety and I’ll hit you for the TD!”? Dude might be similar to an…[Read more]

Utah absolutely reloaded on both O line and D line. Plus we added a couple of outstanding Safeties, a very solid LB, and a couple of excellent WRs (with more to come). Also picked up an outstanding RB.

Puget Ute replied to the topic Rumor: Jack Tuttle to Indiana in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
He would have played after Huntley went down. That was Whitt’s plan all along. Shelley for short term, Tuttle for longer term.
I wish him luck when he sees the field in 2020. -
Puget Ute replied to the topic College football coaching is a volatile business. in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
There is a rumor that Doug Elisaia is also following Gary Andersen to USU. That is a huge loss. Doug is a real innovator in strength and conditioning, and has done an outstanding job at Utah over the last 15 years.
**Edit** it is not Doug Elisaia, it is somebody else in the program. That is a relief, of course, but we should be proud of how…[Read more]

Puget Ute replied to the topic Holiday Bowl Parking is $20 per car, which is reasonable, however … in the forum Football 5 years, 11 months ago
Take a cab, Uber, or Lyft. It may take 2-3 hours after the game to catch the trolley because EVERYBODY else will try to do the same.

I also can’t believe the CPS here in Washington thought it would be OK for him to have visits with his kids, AT HIS HOUSE, supervised by a single female social worker. When she brought the kids to his house he pulled them inside, shoved her away and locked the door, then hacked his kids to death with an axe and burned down his house. It was so…[Read more]

Puget Ute replied to the topic Some modern Baseball pitcher thinks he could strike out Babe Ruth every time. in the forum Professional Sports 5 years, 11 months ago
Babe Ruth still has one of the fastest documented reaction times ever measured. The science was new at the time, but the data was repeated and compared against modern athletes over the last 100+ years. It is possible that pitcher could strike out Babe (BR also struck out more than nearly every player), but I sincerely doubt he could …[Read more]

Puget Ute replied to the topic Perception problem in the forum Misc 5 years, 11 months ago
SEC schools and the South in general were able to expose their history of open racism to sunlight, and to escape and move beyond those issues to build a new culture. That isn’t always the case and plenty of current examples exist (see voter suppression in NC, GA, and FL).

Puget Ute replied to the topic Perception problem in the forum Misc 5 years, 11 months ago
You are correct. SLC IS a great community. And you know that because you experienced that. But the discussion here is about perception, and not reality.
Perception is that the mindset of students at Utah is more like the insular and unaccepting byu-P of the 70s and 80s, and not the culturally-diverse place that reality tells us it is.
Perception…[Read more] -

There is zero chance everybody will go along with that. Right now every team plays once in NoCal and once in SoCal, every year. No way will they give up those trips.
The fact is California has a bit under twice the population of the entire rest of the PAC-12 states combined. Like it or not California is the major recruiting ground for the entire…[Read more] -

The only thing that bothered me about the original off-campus party story (DwayneBusby?) and ‘sockgate’ was the improper benefits aspect of the story. People were buying iPads and other items for the players, and that is improper. I couldn’t care less if those guys get to crack a beer and let a repressed middle-aged dude give them back rubs.

I remember seeing Steve Sarkisian and a few other byu-P players at a downtown establishment when he played there, I think Port o’ Call? Maybe Loyter was there?
