I have said it before about Lovering. The last time I remember him masking 2 FTs in a row was when he banked them.

I was hoping it was something he was going to start doing. Sadly, he has not.

I know players think it’s too embarrassing because it’s not what everyone else is doing, but what’s even more embarrassing is shooting under 40%. And I hadn’t looked out up, but since conference play started, I’m positive he’s shooting under 30%

I didn’t have a problem with most of the attempts, and there were a lot, 3 or 4 bad shots, IMO. I think sometimes he has more time than he realizes and rushes enemies he doesn’t need to and doesn’t get his feet and base set.

Rebounds were the most disappointing for me and the biggest reason they lost.

I find it odd that they only called 4 or 5 fouls against CIN in the first half and 3 in the 2nd half (they technically did call 2 more meaninless fouls in the last minute of the game for 5 total). Can’t think of a game where 1 team only gets 7 or 8 fouls caked against them.

Was going to ask how, since the window closed, but guessing since he’s going into his 5th season, he’d be a graduate transfer.

KSU was hitting the 3 ball at a high clip and hit several lucky desperation 3s.

I would dare say Utah had better looks than KSU, and KSU just hit more contested shots.

The obvious difference in the game was rebounding, Utah dominated the boards 2 games in a row.

And yeah, hitting FTs, I still think Lovering should bank his FTs.

Yep, unlike the last games (and most of their losses), the rebounding was great, and they didn’t have excessive turnovers against the pressure defense. It was the key to the win, IMO.
