In both of our Rose bowl seasons we lost games. We can still get to the the conference championship game but it has to be Cam the rest of the way.

A healthy Cam changes that for me. With him we most likely score 35+ every game and when we do we are very tough.

That would be the first for us against a good team on the road in forever. I guess it’s possible but we haven’t been good on the road against good teams.

Wouldn’t mind a 3 safety look although our safeties outside of TAO haven’t impressed either. Too bad that we are not quite deeep enough at either position.

Me too. It’s strange, it was so easy to start rooting for the PAC schools in out of conference. Not for me and the 12. I saw a guy with a shirt that only had the 12 logo on it and was red. My first reaction was he must be a BYU fan. Such a strange reaction but it was real. Weird…

I mean if the Baylor QB gets hurt in the game like Caleb maybe we slow him down. In our home win we won 43-42. That is not slowing him down much

You think our D will be better than last years after losing Vaki, Bishop, Ellis to the league and Damuni to injury and two corners?

I think the D will be worse, but O maybe the best we’ve had since 04.

I think Whitt was the coach when we beat them 70-7 or whatever it was.

So the 5 favorites are: Kansas (7), Utah (8), AZ (9), OSU (12), and KSU (13)? Either this system is way off, or the general perception of them is way off.

It is a weird year in that expectations are so high but we hardly have anyone on the preseason all big 12. In the two Rose bowl years we dominated the preseason awards. Not sure what to make of it. Especially after Ludwig said no more Cam running. He is almost unstoppable in those circumstances, I worry that we lose a game or two trying to get third and shorts with the RB before we realize it had to be Cam. It is part of what has made him special in the past, his ability to extend drives with his feet to include short yardage situations.…[Read more]

Is Carsen Ryan hurt, or not showing out enough to be listed. I have high hopes for him.

What if he plays in 4 games and redshirts. then plays as a walk on the full year in Basketball?

Our safeties play a big role in run support as well. Cole and Sione were fast and aggressive in their run support. We’re going to need to have some folks step up at free and strong safety to be our best.

They have us at home, we haven’t been very good against decent teams on the road really ever. That will be a likely loss for us based on past performance.

With replacing both stud safeties and a corner a 4 ranking in DB’s is generous. May work out that way but I don’t know.

My take is winning the PAC created momentum and helped us land recruits. Especially that win over USC to get to our second Rose. The way our season played out and finished lacked the same kind of momentum. Will be interesting to see why would happen if, for instance, we won the 12 and made a playoff appearance coming up. Last year?

If Ellis, Vaki, Bishop, and JQJ had stayed I would say we would be THEE favorites. Lots of talent left, still have a good amount but are going to need some injury good luck.
