Really depends on the reputation of the new Big12 vs sec b10. If it’s viewed as mwc in comparison to previous P5 then quality recruits will only choose the 2 other conferences which will cause downstream effects in the program.
This is about headlines and attention. Combining war (real lives lost/maimed) with sport (entertainment) is not a classy move. Same with combining elements of religion with sport ex Catholics vs Convicts? Yeah its get headlines and motivates the player but it’s not good for the game or promoting positive interactions with fans.
Tough to say. Logically, I think you’re right but money talks and LA market is hard to pass on even though Utah travels well and UCLA screwed them over last year.
I’m not an insider by any means and not pretending to be. Just been reading articles about discussion about ACC and PAC discussions. If the SEC does expand the team you list make a lot of sense for SEC expansion.
Really hope UO and UW are stuck with their “little Pac Bros” ACC/PAC full merger would be a clear #3 conference. ND is the wild card. Who knows what will happen.
I just hope that they do expand to another 10-15 bids. The concern is that the decision makers want less members and more exclusivity / elistism. Won’t matter how well Utah does if the powers that be see that name Utah and think, that’s not big-enough for us regardless of what the on-field results show.
