My question on the whole 20 minutes before the game line is how does that impact the amount of reps Isaac gets during the week and is that they best way to prepare him mentally for a big game? Are you telling me that our training staff and doctors don’t know until 20 minutes before kickoff if a player can play or not??? Come on man! So if they…[Read more]

Rick replied to the topic For those of you at the game in the forum Football 4 months ago
On the talent level of each team. The only area that I saw where they shined was their linebackers. I think Barton is amazing and he had a great game, but their two dudes would be a welcomed addition to our team. The only thing that got in their way was their own defensive line being shoved back into them and hampering their pursuit angles.…[Read more]

I am so sick of this game this year. I really don’t care. Play or don’t play. Just stop the mind games with the fans Kyle!

Rick replied to the topic What do we know about OSU? in the forum Football 4 months ago
One thing I know for certain is that Utah has not had to open up their playbook in their first three games much at all. I have not seen many blitz packages from the Utes and our offense has been really vanilla in all three games because it didn’t need much to win those games. I think Utah opens things up quite a bit on Saturday and will look…[Read more]

Rick replied to the topic Let's give Wilson a chance in the forum Football 4 months, 1 week ago
Wilson’s play on Saturday has way more to do with the coaching strategy than his skills as a QB. We basically ran about 5-6 different plays once Cam left the game. Wilson made some very good throws and some very good decisions. One thing I would like to see more of Isaac is him running the football. He was very successful in high school…[Read more]

Reilly played a game vs. BYU with street clothes under his pads. He is nuts! Why would you go up and sucker punch him?

Are we sure this person is a real Utah fan? I have found several Zoobs posting ridiculous stuff on several Big 12 Facebook groups posing as Utah fans. I think the tweet is horrible but I would not be surprised if it turned out to be a Zoob.

I think our PPG in the Big 12 will be higher than what it averaged in the PAC 12. There are zero defensive juggernauts in this conference. There are not defenses like Oregon State, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Cal in this conference. I think we will be fine on offense. We have to defend the pass better in this conference because there are several…[Read more]

You could combine the USS Salt Lake City concept with the demise of the Pac 12 and show a sinking ship. That could be fun!

Rick replied to the topic Football question of the day in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
A big question for me is replacing the pressure that our safeties provided last season. If we can keep our productivity up there, I am confident that our DEs, DLs, and LBs will be as good or better than last season. Also, how much man coverage will our corners be able to provide. Pass rush is not just a product of a good DE or two.

Rick replied to the topic TE Question????? in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I think comparing any offensive player on this year’s team to their production last year is a bad analysis. King is a good TE. We didn’t discover that until later in the season because we had extremely poor QB play and a pretty bad pass blocking O-Line.

Rick replied to the topic FOOTBALL is almost here! in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I think the offensive line will be a HUGE factor in the run vs. pass mix decision. Last season was not a very good pass protection o-line. I am hoping they have improved in that area but Cam needs the threat of the run both from him personally and our RBs for his type of passing game to be effective. He is not some 6’5″ gunslinging pocket…[Read more]

This lineup, no matter how it ends up, will not be even close to as good as last year’s lineup at full strength and will not finish outside of the bottom 25% of our new conference. I just don’t see it. No one listed is in BC’s ballpark and there is no one on this roster as talented as Deivon.

Rick replied to the topic Does the Big 12 have a sleeping giant? in the forum Football 6 months, 2 weeks ago
Phoenix is a bigger market than Cincy or Orlando. The city of Houston doesn’t give one crap about their university in relation to the big dogs in that state (Texas and TAMU) and their pro teams. Also, ASU has a massive alumni base in the Phoenix area and they have a good, young coach. Once, they cycle out of the mess that Herm left them, they…[Read more]

Rick replied to the topic This is the year that we should open up the offense IMO. in the forum Football 6 months, 4 weeks ago
I really don’t understand all of the lamenting on this board about JQJ. At best, he was a very moderate success at RB for us. He was an average blocker at best. He ran high and fumbled a lot. He only had 5 games in 2 seasons with 100+ yards rushing. His average yards per carry declined from 2022 to 2023 by 2 whole yards. He was hurt almost…[Read more]
