What do analytics tell you about the risk of not making it on fourth down and what it does to your true freshman QBs confidence and the confidence of your entire team in him??? I am so sick of dumb coaching decisions being blamed on analytics. It is the new cop out for coaches. It was a dumb decision and you made it several times which makes it…[Read more]

  • The way I look at it, how many local Utah recruits have been significant impact players historically? You really have to dig deep. I think they have historically been offensive and defensive linemen for the most part and this Dunn kid coming in certainly continues that tradition but when was the last true stud WR, RB, or DB come from in state?…[Read more]

Is it just me or is everyone on this board placing the blame of Saturday’s loss on Cam not playing? If so, I find that absolutely insane. We lost the game because we made horrible offensive decisions in the red zone with a true freshman QB AND made few adjustments to our vaunted run defense when U of A was able to gash the crap out of them…[Read more]

What impressed you about OSU’s offensive line? Their QB gets no pressure because their scheme delivers the ball in less than 2 seconds. Their run blocking was horrible and if their QB had to stay in the pocket for more than 2 seconds he got a ton a pressure from our front.

  • I was completely under impressed with both their O-line and their D-line. We beat their butts in the trenches and that is why we dominated them. They have great LBs and DBs but they suck in the trenches. I also think we will man handle U of A in the trenches this Saturday. I love what I am seeing from both our lines.

My question on the whole 20 minutes before the game line is how does that impact the amount of reps Isaac gets during the week and is that they best way to prepare him mentally for a big game? Are you telling me that our training staff and doctors don’t know until 20 minutes before kickoff if a player can play or not??? Come on man! So if they…[Read more]

  • Rick replied to the topic Will Cam Play in the forum Football 4 months, 1 week ago

    DO NOT CARE.

  • On the talent level of each team. The only area that I saw where they shined was their linebackers. I think Barton is amazing and he had a great game, but their two dudes would be a welcomed addition to our team. The only thing that got in their way was their own defensive line being shoved back into them and hampering their pursuit angles.…[Read more]

  • Rick replied to the topic Cam Game time Decision? in the forum Football 4 months, 2 weeks ago

I am so sick of this game this year. I really don’t care. Play or don’t play. Just stop the mind games with the fans Kyle!

  • One thing I know for certain is that Utah has not had to open up their playbook in their first three games much at all. I have not seen many blitz packages from the Utes and our offense has been really vanilla in all three games because it didn’t need much to win those games. I think Utah opens things up quite a bit on Saturday and will look…[Read more]

  • Wilson’s play on Saturday has way more to do with the coaching strategy than his skills as a QB. We basically ran about 5-6 different plays once Cam left the game. Wilson made some very good throws and some very good decisions. One thing I would like to see more of Isaac is him running the football. He was very successful in high school…[Read more]

  • Reilly played a game vs. BYU with street clothes under his pads. He is nuts! Why would you go up and sucker punch him?

Are we sure this person is a real Utah fan? I have found several Zoobs posting ridiculous stuff on several Big 12 Facebook groups posing as Utah fans. I think the tweet is horrible but I would not be surprised if it turned out to be a Zoob.

  • Rick replied to the topic 2024 – Points per game in the forum Football 6 months ago

I think our PPG in the Big 12 will be higher than what it averaged in the PAC 12. There are zero defensive juggernauts in this conference. There are not defenses like Oregon State, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Cal in this conference. I think we will be fine on offense. We have to defend the pass better in this conference because there are several…[Read more]

  • You could combine the USS Salt Lake City concept with the demise of the Pac 12 and show a sinking ship. That could be fun!

  • A big question for me is replacing the pressure that our safeties provided last season. If we can keep our productivity up there, I am confident that our DEs, DLs, and LBs will be as good or better than last season. Also, how much man coverage will our corners be able to provide. Pass rush is not just a product of a good DE or two.

  • Rick replied to the topic TE Question????? in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago

I think comparing any offensive player on this year’s team to their production last year is a bad analysis. King is a good TE. We didn’t discover that until later in the season because we had extremely poor QB play and a pretty bad pass blocking O-Line.

  • Rick replied to the topic FOOTBALL is almost here! in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago

I think the offensive line will be a HUGE factor in the run vs. pass mix decision. Last season was not a very good pass protection o-line. I am hoping they have improved in that area but Cam needs the threat of the run both from him personally and our RBs for his type of passing game to be effective. He is not some 6’5″ gunslinging pocket…[Read more]
