When has RB ever been a weak spot in a Utah offense? Someone will rise up as RB1 and we all know what Micah Bernard can do as RB2. My biggest concern is replacing Keaton Bills. I think he was a huge key to several of our wins last year.

Are the folks on here trying to convince us that this roster presented is better than last year’s? If so, I am not buying what you all are selling.

Rick replied to the topic Another one where Utah is on top, and BYU at the very bottom in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Colorado had 42 commits. Of course they are going to be ranked #1 but that is no measure of quality and I do not know how you coach a college football team that has basically turned it’s roster twice in two years. It is nonsensical.

Rick replied to the topic The 2019 defense was our best defense ever in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The 2008 team went undefeated and beat a top 5 Alabama team and two top ten teams in Oregon State and TCU. The 2019 team had as super weak non-conference schedule, lost to a mediocre USC team, lost to a decent Oregon team and then completely bombed in their bowl game vs. Texas. It will never be a top team in my book. You can say the 2008 team…[Read more]

Rick replied to the topic Kool-Aid anyone? in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The ’08 team put a lot of players into the NFL. I look at the D-Line of ’08 and this current team has no one at the talent level of Misi or Kruger. D Backfield with Sean Smith, Rojo and McCain is better than this year’s team by far. OL with Beadles, Taylor, Hensel, and Schlauderaff was also top notch. I would also take the ’08 WRs of Brooks,…[Read more]

Where do these exact dollar figures come from for this kid in terms of NIL? How do we know what he was offered?

Rick replied to the topic Statue of Responsibility??? in the forum Misc 7 months ago
Given all of the statue desecration that has gone on over the past 4 years with all of the various protests and violent mobs, I would prefer this money be spent on developing better substance abuse and housing programs for the homeless. We have real needs in this community and a statue that is supposed to remind us to do better vs. actually doing…[Read more]

What “Tourney” are you talking about? You are telling me that this team coming in is better than last year’s team? That is an insane position.

Rick replied to the topic Offseason food review: Dave’s Hot Chicken (Midvale) in the forum Misc 7 months, 1 week ago
You talking Gus’s in KC? Damn good fried chicken! I also prefer Dave’s Hot Chicken to the new Houston’s Hot Chicken. Dave’s is not as hot but way more flavorful and juicy. Houston’s is also quite pricey. I would have much preferred they kept Crack Shack.

I think Miles was the last Ute eligible for the draft, am I right?

Rick replied to the topic Vaki to Lions in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Based on all the draft experts I listened to over the past week, they seek Vaki as just an OK safety but a better than average prospect at RB. They especially like his film of catching passes out of the backfield, even though it was a limited amount of plays. I tend to agree. Whatever he ends up doing for the Lions, I hope he kills it!

Rick replied to the topic Colorado RB in the forum Football 8 months ago
Many of their sacks were from Sanders holding onto the ball and taking the sack rather than throw it away in order to pad his completion percentage stats. He took a lot of sacks he didn’t need to take.

I think Utah Blizzard and you can have a Yeti as your mascot and call him/her anything you want that is Utah related. Call the Yeti “Wasatch.” Which kind of phonetically sounds like Sasquatch. Black Diamond would be difficult to get through legally AND very few who don’t ski would have a clue to it’s meaning.

Best of luck to him in the prolific passing offense of Justin Wilcox! LOL! Mikey is just a big meh for me. I moved on from him the second he announced he was entering the portal.

Rick replied to the topic Coach Smith in the forum Basketball (Men) 8 months, 3 weeks ago
I’m sorry but your logic about using the NCAA tournament as the measure of how great a conference is has many flaws. Top to bottom the Big 12 is at least in the top 3 of all D1 basketball conferences and it has been for many years. Just using this year’s tournament to support your logic does not make it valid. The NCAA tournament is all about…[Read more]

Rick replied to the topic My future dream-team coaching staff in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
Exactly. Just because you were a great player does not translate to being a great coach. There are TONS of examples in almost every profession. I think Steve Smith would be an absolute disaster as a coach. His temper alone is a red flag. I don’t think Alex would be up for the near 24-7 commitment that a coach needs to agree to these days.…[Read more]
