I’m not fully versed in NIL but…isn’t that essentially private money or at least partly private now? I mean he can take advertiser money directly and the U can’t shut it off…or can they? I’m not clear about those aspects of how it works today. If they were employees I know it would be different.

I think NIL money is driving the depth chart no doubt. And that’s a great concern to me. Not sure who is telling who what…but I think it starts at the AD and flows down pretty strongly.

Chris Petersen would transform the team. But once you get that sweet TV money and don’t have to deal with NIL and the boosters and the transfer portal and can just spout off about everyone else…why would you EVER go back?

Whitt is our best long term coach and deserves a statue.
Urban was our best 2 year coach

We aren’t Michigan but we beat them. So I am not complaining about our run of the last 20 years.

I do think we may need to evolve soon.

All true things for me.

1. We would look terrible in ANY conference this year with what has happened.
2. I don’t like the B12 and it wasn’t my desired destination
3. The places I’d rather be either disappeared or didn’t want us
4. College FB is imploding due to $$, Realignment games, NIL, and transfers so it probably won’t matter in 5 years.

I like ISU. I hope they win the conference. I have no reason to think we are going to get in the way this week.

what I notice most is the energy and interaction with the team from these new QBs. Rose wasn’t just amped, he also shared it with his team mates. He was fully engaged with his teammates and trying to energize them. That’s what you need in a QB.

Cam and Brant were both studs. Amazing talents. But yes if 2022 had been the end I think our focus on rebuilding would have been dramatically more effective.

I have hated the late night games but if it were at 8:30 then when I give up all hope by halftime I could go to sleep.

As it is now I’ll have to watch the entire thing.

I have mixed feelings about this.

O-line is not getting it done but even when it does we don’t have a QB with field awareness. He’s a freshman still looking like a freshman. Maybe next year he’ll be better but right now every time they give him 5 seconds he is looking for 7 and that makes any Oline look bad.

here’s the funny/sad part. IF Cam were to come back…and did somehow become healthy and lead our team to a 10 win season or better next year.
