  • I’m feeling pretty good about the Houston game….

Seriously though if I were in Vegas betting I’d probably say 6-7 games is where we end up.

However all the games I had leaning our way 2 weeks ago…not so much anymore.

At this point I’m going to root against BYU and like its 20 years ago and our unwelcome rivalry was relevant. Let them lay a…[Read more]

Here is what is helping me reset (or perhaps become disaffected). We have not won a bowl game since 2017. We have not won a bowl game since 2017. We have not won a bowl game since 2017.

I’m of the belief that if I remind myself of this enough, I can see through all the pre-season hype and more objectively assess the talent we have on the field…[Read more]

  • Based on Whitt’s comments after the game about Cam I’m of the sad belief that Whitt decided showing his personal loyalty to Cam was the most important aspect of the decision. I’m all for loyalty but not if that kills your QB. I think we’ve seen that before. This is my guy so I will ride him till he dies has resulted in a lot of injuries.

    I’ll…[Read more]

  • I’m as bummed out as anyone here I assure you. But I’m not wearing any crimson-colored glasses at this point.
we have a injured veteran who is likely to get more injured the more we push him. We have a freshman QB who is promising but every bit a freshman.

We have an offense with either QB that can’t seem to put up 25 points against any team…[Read more]

  • I’m a disappointed and more moderate optimist now. I think we get a winning record. But thats as far as I’m going in my head for now.

  • Honestly don’t think I can remember a game where we weren’t down by 14+ where I watched Whitt just choose to leave the easy points on the field. It was baffling especially the second time.

  • I would be very happy if you are right. I think most of us would. But some of the issues seem bigger than the QB position (running back).

  • RUUTES replied to the topic Josh Furlong X post in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago

Kuithe is a stud but he’s clearly not at 100%. Cam clearly has something not at 100%. And Bernard isn’t durable enough to take 30 snaps. I’m not really sure how we can be considered a top 20 team in this situation. And without another RB so we can consistently run 35 plays, I’m not sure how we turn it around. We’ll win some games because…[Read more]

  • the RB situation is both puzzling and the #1 reason I think we’re in trouble. If we can’t rely on a stud RB to consistently take the ball 25-30 snaps a game we are not playing Utah football. And with a freshman QB we aren’t going to win it all in the air. Wilson is fine and shows promise but he’s not nearly ready to win games for us with his…[Read more]

  • I would love to see Cam back on the field. But for the last couple games what I’d really like to have seen was Cam looking like he had some fire in his belly and that he was over amping up the team. Instead he seems to be kinda leaning back and smiling and joking. I don’t see the competitive intensity of a start QB. I can’t believe that at…[Read more]

  • Wilson did what he could do. No fault for a freshman this early in the season not single handedly winning the game.

A lack of depth at running back. Terrible play calling. No D showing up half of the game allowing us to be repeatedly burned.

We were out coached. We went away from the strength we showed in the OSU game. We lacked any…[Read more]

  • Killing? Killed. I don’t know if it can be resurrected but it’s clearly dead at the moment. A couple of good games cannot and should not revive it. The entire sport has lost credibility for players and fans. Major changes have to happen for it to have any meaning. Or it needs to disconnect from Universities and just become a AAA Team for the…[Read more]

  • But your assumption is that anyone else available would have won. It was a catch 22 for the coaches. Barnes had a horrid game. But its a total longshot that anyone else we had was going to actually be better at this point.

  • 1) NIL/Portal are going to make Utah a prime ground for farming by the SEC and B10. Utah can scout and develop the crap out of players, but we won’t keep the ones that shine in this current broken system. That’s not just us but since we have always been a team that thrived on finding and polishing diamonds in the rough it will hit us…[Read more]

Those things are why we lost. Barnes was not ever going to be our starting QB but he did the best he could…and had an off day.

Ludwig…hell I don’t know what he was supposed to do with what he had to work with that night. I’m not going to blame him for the loss.

I do wanna point out that the NW player…[Read more]

  • I’ll take it. Never once “felt” the rivalry there. Really ASU, OU, and USC all felt a level of emotional rivalry. But CU…not an ounce. So its a valid point for me 😀

  • RUUTES replied to the topic Good riddance, Buffs in the forum Pac-12 1 year, 5 months ago

Maybe we all need to step way back and ask what the multibillion dollar business of athletics really has to do with universities at this point. Maybe the NFL should just take over their farm league and pay for it and Universities can focus on physics and art. Really doesn’t seem like a match made in heaven in the modern era. More of a soul…[Read more]

I’m only posting because I’m bored today because apathy over college football has finally taken over my brain like a fungus.
