If we get to play on New Years day and it isn’t in the Rose Bowl then I want the Orange because eventually I want us to get the Grand Slam.

4 team playoff is a lame stopgap. We need to go to 8 (winner of 5 P5, top G-5 rank, next 2 ranked from wherever).

But that ain’t this year and as much as I love our Utes…we aren’t a top 4 right now. I would like to focus on winning the South and then…I’ll be nervous about playing UO.

USC does seem like a different team at home but I think UO is for real this year. IF they are as good as they appear to be I think the home field USC still won’t be enough. But I’m not in Vegas betting on much in the PAC-12 this year. Crazy abounds.

I’m happy with that. I get nervous when we’re in the top 10 early. 12 seems like a nice spot given our 4 turnovers and lack of offensive production. Let’s stay there but win out and then we can get recognized if/when we beat UO in the Pac-12 championship.

I thought Shelly’s “running” was unspeakable last night. Both scrambles seemed horrifically inept. Massive regression from last year. I’ve never left a game early and certainly SOME people are super fair weather. But I can’ always tell someone leaving because they are a lamer or someone leaving because they have kids or other honest commitments. We are 6-1, just beat ASU. Yep I think the Washington game will decide the South. USC is going to have 1 loss to Oregon. which only gets it done for us if we win out. I’m concerned that USC may not get that other upset loss that will give us room to breath.

I’m going to be very worried about injuries to our players next year when we play in Phoenix. Something about these two teams just doesn’t mix well. ASU, my least favorite team in the PAC-12…and that’s saying a lot given USC.

Was it 10-12 years ago we played USU at the end of September…game started with heavy rain then turned to snow at halftime. That may not have been technically the wettest game (I bought a stupid amount of weather gear after that) but it was probably the worst combo of wet-cold I’ve ever sat through.

I would say things have changed so much from the start of the year till now it’s almost impossible to define.

The O and D both struggled in strange ways and then exploded. USC was the game where I blame everyone and everything but it’s not reflective of anything else we’ve done this year.

Tells you how key depth is…and something’s up with QBs this year…it sure seems like more starting QBs are going down than normal. That being said…USC sucks and they show that they can both struggle on a down year and still be so damn deep their 3d stringer would start for almost anyone else.

I wish there was a scenario where we could play in the Orange bowl only because I do think we’ll get to play for the Roses sometime soon. And having won in the Fiesta and Sugar it would be cool to get a grand slam. But no scenario allows for that atm and I suspect we’ll have an 8 team playoff (good) fairly soon (5ish years).

I hate ASU…maybe more than any other Pac-12 team. They are smug like USC, and frankly give us more fits. And we hear about it a lot more when they win (or maybe that’s just because I have smugass family in Phoenix who are Sun Devil fans) So the idea we can beat them like a drum appeals greatly to me this year. Nah, not after today’s loss. I think we’re going to hear a bunch more Kalani hate which is unfortunate because he’s as good as they are likely to get and he is a pretty good guy. Not that I ever want to see TDS win. I just don’t hate Kalani.

How come Leech doesn’t play more games like that against us? Hate ASU and that outcome. But at least we saw what I think is all that ASU has…we should be ready to take care of business next week.
