Maybe we can get Joseph Williams to recommit.

Sports is and always has been a great way for me to connect and find common ground with people. I’ve had many times when sports have saved me from times where it otherwise would have been difficult to find something in common with someone. I have had so many great memories talking about great games or incredible sports moments with family members…[Read more]

I’ve done everything I can to help my children carry on the 75 year history of my family cheering for the Utes, but my children really aren’t interested in college sports.
Most the people I know their age also do not care about college sports. I can’t even get them to sit down and watch a movie with me. They are only interested in YouTube and…[Read more]

My whole reason for writing this post is to respond to the new world of NIl/Portal. I have found myself very frustrated and hopeless the last year in regards to this new NIL/Portal world. Whether true or not, I felt we were trending toward a blue blood team. I’ve been mourning the loss of that blue blood hope since the onset of NIL.
What I’ve…[Read more]

One thing I really enjoy watching are players who were under recruited who have the “it” factor. I define a player with the It” factor as someone who plays better when the spotlight is turned on them. They are ultra competitive and hungry to prove everyone wrong. Utah has thrived off of players like this throughout the years. I think many players…[Read more]

Honestly, I think he needs a good mentor a an amazing qb coach and I think he can break out of his slump. He’s a gifted kid who needs guidance desperately, someone who is who his patient, firm, and won’t tell him what he wants to hear only.

It would be interesting if Nate Johnson came back as well. We would have Creed Whittemore, Dampier, Isaac Wilson, and Nate Johnson. All for of these players would thrive in a spread offense with all of them having the capability of RPO. I think Wilson would do much better if he was in an RPO system BTW. I’m intrigued by the idea of having all…[Read more]

He may declare for the NFL but I’m guessing his size will keep him from being drafted. He may make more money playing college ball.

Just watched several game highlights. He is incredibly elusive and will be very hard to sack. Even Auburn couldn’t bring him down with their SEC speed. He has amazing ability to extend plays and will probably require a rover from the opposing team to always have to spy him. He also has pretty good touch on the ball. He is electric and should…[Read more]

If the rumors are true about his off the field behavior, he will fit in perfectly there.

Only U,
Last year seamed to be so painful for Whittingham. We had a pretty solid defense as usual, but our offense was playing at an excruciatingly low level. At times, Whittingham seemed just as frustrated as the fans by the offense. Has he seen his responsibility in the lack of offensive production yet, or do you think he believes another…[Read more]

Some of the challenges of the triple option:
1. The likelihood of the QB getting hit more often and injured.
2. If they are not a great passer it can be frustrating for receivers. They do a lot of running just to watch the QB take off running over and over again.
3. More holding penalties as OLs struggle to keep track of which direction the qb…[Read more]

Red Rhino replied to the topic No Trust For Whittingham on Offense in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
In my opinion scheme is important to attracting QB and Receiver talent. What QB wants to hand it off 35 times a game and what receiver wants to spend most of their time blocking? I’ve been saying it for a while; it is not an attractive environment for offensive talent.

Though I greatly trust Whittingham for his defensive abilities, I have no trust for him with his offensive knowledge. Since Kyle came to Utah, Utah has averaged 29.9 points per game. Their average offensive ppg rank is 50th nationally since he has been at Utah. For the most part, his offenses have been incredibly boring to watch. Even in games…[Read more]

I think that it is interesting that you usually revert to name calling when someone has a different opinion than you. It’s not a very Ned Flanders like thing to do. Why can’t you handle people having different opinions than you?

I respect Boise State for what they have been able to consistently accomplish but their fans are annoying! I will say this though, most fans seem annoying when you’re losing and we’ve lost a lot to them.

If he stays, I don’t think it’s about the money. I think he is proud and a competitor and doesn’t want to go out defeated. Here’s the problem, he made his choice. He chose Rising over what was best for the program.

Red Rhino replied to the topic Why would an OC who has designed a fast-paced offense want to coach under Whitt? in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
If Whittingham had the attitude of why change things when it’s working, then why did he fire 8 offensive coordinators? Obviously, he thought there was a problem with the offense, but it wasn’t with him.
