  • It seems to me that once players get their cash, the fire, that used to make college football great, goes out of players. It’s hard to get the horse moving once you’ve given him the carrot.

  • I agree proud. If the team has learned what they need to learn from the mistake, than it’s time to look forward and not back. The only point in looking backwards is to learn from our mistakes, but if we look backwards beyond learning from our mistakes, than it is a hindrance to our future.

We should start a Rising chant at the Cal game. Let’s put a little pressure on him.

  • In the 18 years Kyle has been at Utah, I can think of only 4 years where Utah’s offense hasn’t been below average and somewhat hard to watch. You cannot minimize offense for 18 years and expect to have offensive playmakers lining up to play for you. Receivers don’t want to be blockers and QB’s don’t want to be run facilitators. Last night, even…[Read more]

I have been trying to understand Whittingham’s risk tolerance better. I was reading some research done about risk vs reward in football. The research says that it is the inferior team who must take the risk. I read that the only way a more dominant team loses is because they beat themselves. This research sited the old Steve Spurrier Gators team…[Read more]

I love how quickly and decisively he starts running after he catches the ball. It seems like that split second of hesitation that other returners struggle with makes a huge difference in making the first line of defenders miss. It’s as if he’s able to watch the incoming defenders, the incoming ball and plot his route while the ball’s in the air.

I agree, the booing was clearly for the play calling. The booing comes because we feel bad for the players who are clearly giving it there all, but are being underutilized and everyone can see it. I’m guessing the offensive players feel underutilized as well.

What’s the point of having a forum if we are not allowed as fans to question the…[Read more]

I believe we will continue to see more RB injuries as teams continue to stack the box against us. Constantly running our backs into situations of high contact, (like a pile), seems to be welcoming roll over injuries. We have got to spread the field. It’s time to let Johnson throw the ball.

How would we know if Nate is or isn’t the future, he is not getting a real chance.

  • Red Rhino replied to the topic Offensive Culture in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago

I understand that defenses are stacking the box. That’s exactly why we need to be less conservative. We need to keep the defense honest so they won’t be able to put so much pressure on Nate. Even, if we ran a few more play action deep plays each game,we would force the db’s and safties to drop back into coverage and we may even connect on a few.…[Read more]

I have been on this board for many years and have enjoyed the various perspectives, but this is my first time posting.

I love the run first, pound it down your throat, smothering defense football that Utah has established, but the level of conservative play calling we saw on Saturday is dangerous for a program. Whether we like the entertainment…[Read more]
