I’m not convinced UW and UO would have signed a GOR at that point in time, even for $30M per school. They were still waiting on B1G to expand further. If this same deal would have been presented a few months ago, when B1G expansion was looking bleak, they might’ve signed it. But I doubt they would have agreed to this in 2022.

I thought the same thing about Pedo State’s QB Sean Clifford, then Utah made him look all-world.

I’ve thought and wondered about this as well. Turns out, the Big12 move was better. If we were brought into the ACC onto their current GOR, our 2024 total payout (media + other distributions) would be around $40M and marginally better each year until 2036.
Our first year in the Big12, the total payout will be around $42M. The 2025 payout under…[Read more]

UteFanatic replied to the topic Any Ute fan that thinks we'll dominate the Big12 year one in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
No, I don’t think we’ll dominate. Recruiting rankings put Utah in the top 3 or 4 of the conference, and I think we have a top 3 or 4 coach in the league. So anything less than being in the top 5 regularly would be fairly disappointing.

UteFanatic replied to the topic Barnes leading the QB2 battle in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
This is very concerning. If Barnes is beating out Johnson and Rose, we aren’t in as good of a spot at QB as we all thought. I don’t get it. We’ve been recruiting damn well at this position and we know Ludwig can develop and coach QBs. Last two starters, Huntley and Rising have both been fantastic.

Ah, yes, the “life boat” narrative. LMAO!!!
BYU fans are extremely bitter and butthurt about Utah crashing their party, and it’s causing them to act like a bunch of drunk clowns. Even other Big12 fanbases on twitter are beginning to notice the irrational angst. It’s hilarious. They’ve been trying really, really hard to run with this particular…[Read more]

WSU and OSU I feel bad. They have the best fan bases and I got along with all of their fans.
Stanford and Cal will be fine. They will cry into their endowment funds.

That’s a BYU fan impersonating a Utah fan. One of many. It’s so pathetic.

Cougarboard members were pleading for people to email President Reese to get him to vote no on Utah. The Big12 vote was unanimous. LMAO.
BYU desperately tried for 12 years to get into the Big12 and Utah got in in 6 hours. Just amazing.

EagleMountainUte replied to the topic I am really, really sad about the death of the PAC in the forum Pac-12 1 year, 4 months ago
Bad leadership, USC was irrelevant, and the absolute NEED to have 9 conference games killed it. While I enjoyed the 9 conference games it was absolutely idiotic in hindsight. SEC model is clearly the way to go because it achieved nothing perception wise.
SEC essentially controls the narrative. They play 8 conference games with 3 cupcakes and a…[Read more] -

While it’s always good to have solid leadership at every level during times like this, remember that Harlan is not a decision maker here. Realignment decisions are made by the school president and his board.
Is Harlan talking to him? Of course, but he is an advisor only.

Until Utah is firmly in the Big12 with pro rata shares, there is reason to be concerned. Period.

UteFanatic replied to the topic Pac12 is dead. As expected. in the forum Pac-12 1 year, 4 months ago
Pro rata is only for the ESPN share. Fox didn’t have the pro rata clause. Earlier reports by Thamel indicated the league would have to “stretch and work with media partners” to make additions to 16 work, but that it would be achievable.
Why would they offer that now? Fox has no incentive to offer pro rata because they know the teams will come…[Read more]
