SalUteopia started the topic Florida lost to Vanderbilt smh in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
Doesn’t matter anymore, but our Florida game will always remain a ‘what if’, especially if we make the P12 CCG and win it.

Rece Davis also previously mentioned that he’d be very surprised to see Nix take the field. The 2 minute Utah segment with Whitt was also pretty cool.

SalUteopia started the topic USC UCLA has huge implications for us (hopefully not). Who you got? in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
Oddly enough, UCLA winning is better for us despite the H2H disadvantage should we lose tomorrow. So I’ll be rooting for UCLA, but I think USC wins this one. Hoping we take care of business, and this game becomes a non-factor, but it’d be nice to have some cushion. Which LA team you got?

SalUteopia started the topic How much has yesterday’s win & P12 chaos changed your outlook on us making CCG? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
I haven’t done the math, and don’t understand all the scenarios, but I think UCLA losing, especially to a low-level team we beat, is kind of a big deal. UO losing also helps, and their game against OSU is no gimme. All I’m saying is losing next week won’t necessarily eliminate us from P12 CCG contention, which was looking likely if UO and UCLA had…[Read more]

USC will still win going away (or will they?), but fun to watch them struggle. I’m rooting for Mike Sanford Jr., Colorado’s interim HC. Sko Buffs!

SalUteopia started the topic Thoughts on the Washington at Oregon game? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
This game is not getting the attention it deserves. UW (1st in pass O in the nation) is a bad matchup for UO (117th in pass D in the nation). Plus the rivalry aspect. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ducks lose. It would be deflating for UO, and put to rest all the playoff talk. That’s a good sign for us.
Thoughts on this game, and the…[Read more] -
SalUteopia started the topic Oregon game, and UCLA and Florida losses in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
Oregon has looked very good since their abysmal loss against Georgia. They’re not invincible (is anybody in college football?), but winning against a top-10 team on the road is never easy. And despite the lower odds, it is going to be a tough pill to swallow if we lose at Eugene. Not the loss itself, but the season implications.
And I can’t…[Read more] -

SalUteopia started the topic In minority here, but super excited to attend game even in inclement weather in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
Obviously would’ve preferred better weather, but it’s not a dampener at all. It’s only going to make the victory that much sweeter. Sure, we could lose, but still worth it. What an amazing feeling and privilege it is to be able to support our team from such close quarters! Can’t wait to lose my voice, again! LFG!!! Go Utes!!!!!

SalUteopia started the topic Which team does the game weather conditions benefit/hurt more? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
With rain and temperatures of mid-40s predicted for tomorrow, which team does it benefit/hurt more? Will it hurt UA more because they’re primarily a passing team? We’re not that pass-heavy, but can we rely more on the running game than we usually do? What about the crowd factor? Will the cold and rain take the fans out of it (I certainly hope not!…[Read more]

SalUteopia started the topic Rising’s status for Arizona game? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
Whitt had mentioned in his presser that we’ll know more about Rising on Tues or Wed. I don’t see any official news, and I doubt there will be one. Does anybody have a latest update? Do we even know if Rising is practicing, or is that info under the wraps too?

SalUteopia started the topic Can we beat UA with the backup team that beat Wazzu if it comes to that? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
I have no knowledge of how bad the injuries are, and who is going to play, and who is not. But hypothetically, does the team that beat Wazzu beat UA? We’re playing at home, so we have that going for us. But UA looks formidable, especially their O, despite their poor record. Curious as to what Utehub thinks.

SalUteopia started the topic Guess AP & CFP ranking? Utah could be 11-14. UO, USC, UCLA likely are 8, 9,10. in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
I know it’s all about CFP rankings starting this week, but still a fun exercise. UO, USC, UCLA should be a lock for 8,9,10, respectively, so having us 11 would be cool. Not sure tha has ever happened – 4 conf teams in a row. But I think Kansas St and Ole Miss (and maybe even Penn St) will be ahead, keeping us at 13 or 14. I’m fine with the 13-15…[Read more]
