If Scalley is named HC after Whitt retires, would Jay Hill be the top contender for the DC role (assuming he’s still the DC at TSPP)? Would he consider it? What is Scalley’s equation with Hill? If not Hill, who’s your top (realistic) choice?
Could be a moot point if Hill gets poached away for a HC role after this season, but still..

Quite possible, @Eagle. I shouldn’t put much stock into Twitter and Reddit takes, but it rubbed me the wrong way after a heartbreaking loss.
I agree that Utehub has been a great community, and I appreciate the diverse opinions. As @Holladay put it, we’re all on the same side.

My original post wasn’t aimed at anyone specific, and I don’t mean to assign blame. I wanted to share an observation based on some online takes. There is a contingent of fans who seem to feel vindicated by a Utah loss, and deriving more pleasure from saying “I told you so” when it happens, than from celebrating when the team wins.
This is not to say the coaches and players should be immune from criticism, but that’s different.

But does it matter if their scoring offense (#31) is significantly better than ours (#71)?! What is also concerning is that their rushing defense (#21) seems quite good.

ASU may not be world-beaters, but they have decent talent and coaching. Plus they’re coming off an exciting last-minute win against TTU, which gives them some momentum.

Cam or not, I’m worried about this game, maybe because there’s so much to lose. Lose it, and we’re practically out of the B12/CFP race. ASU is no pushover, and it will be an ugly game like most of our games. I’d feel much better about our chances if Reid and O’Toole play.
