I’m always been facinated by the numbers so I watch them in depth weekly…two weeks ago BYU was a 3 point favorite.  Home field typically provides a 3 point add.  So a toss up on a neutral field which most of us could probably accept with a new offense and significant roster turnover coming in.
Last night the line was down to BYU -1.5, This…[Read more]

Not sure why they treated it the way the did…didn’t sound good for sure.  I guess they suspected a Lisfranc which explains the caution.  All I know is he wasn’t wearing the boot today and said he was ok.

Troy Taylor – great start for him…imaginative offense with a ridiculous amount of variation, formations and scheme.  Good luck preparing for this…it’s all about alignment…you go here – we’ll go there.  He walked into the offensive meeting yesterday and reiterated “it doesn’t matter what they do, how they line up, where they bring pressure…[Read more]

Ahhhh Lady…I appreciated Sitake while here but there was a reason that he was never even interviewed for a head coaches job prior to getting the BYU job. He wanted the UNLV Job…didn’t get a call, he wanted the CSU job…didn’t get a call. Gary Anderson convinced him that if he ever wanted to run his own program he had to prove himself…[Read more]

  • Onlyu replied to the topic Francis Bernard in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago

Francis Bernard will play on Sunday’s with his size and speed wherever he plays in college barring a major injury.  If that’s a player you want on the roster then it’s an easy choice.  He is 100% an NFL prospect.

  • Thats one hell of a recruiting coup.  Florida Gatorade player of the year in Huntley.  As nervous as I am about this decision I just asked myself how I felt about the other two.
Moss is a beast and our lead back this year.  Not one of us is afraid of him in that role.
Simpkins is also very impressive, has earned a starting spot and I’ve been…[Read more]

  • The more I think about it…If it is truly a close competition then maybe give them each a half against N Dakota.  It might be a little risky from a momentum standpoint, but throw them in against live bullets against a respectable (but lower division) opponent and see who shines.  Perform in front of a packed house…lets see who takes the job…[Read more]

  • I’d say Huntley won’t go anywhere if he’s not the starter. He still has two years left and would be the heir apparent next year. He came back this year knowing Williams started 13 games last year and it would be very difficult to unseat him. There will be playing time for him this year regardless of whether he starts or not.

    Tuttle is very…[Read more]

I agree…I could see them both playing half of game one if it’s that close and going from there

  • Onlyu started the topic Bernard in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago

Here’s what I’ve learned…combination of multiple conversations so who knows how accurate.  Most of it makes sense though.
Bernard reached out to Ena immediately upon being told he was out for the year.
Washington – Chris Peterson has reached out somehow to Bernard
He wanted to go to Utah after his mission but the Sitake-Poly connection was…[Read more]

  • Jay Drew quoting his older brother in tonight’s SLTrib article.  Interesting to see what Sitake does after stating that Utah St should let the kid from East (don’t know his name) transfer to BYU.
Bernard wanted to transfer to Utah after his mission but stayed to play for Sitake.

  • Onlyu replied to the topic Huntley is the starter in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago

    Nope

  • Interesting take…Huntley does run well, makes something out of nothing often and has a bright future IF he smooths out under Taylor.

My problem today is that Huntley wants to take off when he feels pressure, throws an inferior ball vs. Williams and is still skittish in the pocket based on what I saw in the last scrimmage. If you need a score…[Read more]

  • Part 2.
LB’s – Kavika and Sunia work well together.  Really think behind that line they’ll have a chance to be good.  Both Seniors with confidence after a year under their belt. So do Thompson and Barton with the twos – those two guys can flat out run and love to hit.  Barton looks like a completely different player out there.  Confident and…[Read more]

  • Got to see the scrimmage today – wasn’t fully live except for the 3’s so just went to bump and then backed off.  As mentioned below it sounds like Shyne went down Wednesday with a broken bone (arm).  Out for a little.  Moss looked very good and had taken over the 1 spot previous to the injury but when it really matters in the PAC12 we’ll get a…[Read more]

  • Onlyu started the topic Scrimmage Tomorrow in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago

    Expectations?
Closed to the public so most won’t get to see much of anything.  What are you most excited to hear about?
New Offense against a defense we expect to be pretty good?
    QB Play?
    OL vs DL?
    WR’s?
    DB’s?
Only 20 days to game one so I expect this and maybe next week to be the only “mostly live” scrimmages of camp.  Pretty important…[Read more]

  • Onlyu started the topic Lo Falemaka is ok in the forum Football 7 years, 3 months ago

Gonna be fine…nothing serious at all.  I’d imagine they are very careful with him because of his value but he’ll be ready to play sooner than later!!  That’s huge!!!

  • Probably right…a few more players like Koroma and Tataki that most likely find their way onto the field. Where I agree with Utah above is the overall depth across the board. In essence everyone of our starters would either start or push to start at the TDS and our 2’s would replace their 2’s in almost every case.

Do they have enough talent to…[Read more]

  • Carrington is already our best receiver and it’s not close…he’s a huge pickup and if he stays healthy will impact every game.  He and Wilson on the outside and Simpkins and Singleton (little nicked with a hammy – nothing serious) inside in 4 receiver sets.  Pretty damn good group.  McCormick has a little of the dropsies, Dana is inconsistent,…[Read more]

  • ARod was a good guy, loyal to the program while here, etc. but very quiet in the meeting room and on the field which makes you wonder about his ability to influence both Whit and his players. I have heard that he “talked about being a good offensive team” but the kids really didn’t believe or buy in after some early in game struggles…”didn’t…[Read more]
