I completely agree! I’ve been a season ticket holder for about 20 years now and I live in Hurricane. Yes we drive up for every single game, almost 300 miles each way. We never miss kick off and we never leave early, no matter the outcome of the game.
with all of this said, the university totally messed things up last week for fans who did arrive early, but had to stand in the street for 20 minutes trying to enter the stadium. this new security level is great, but was a total failure in terms of efficiency and planning. i don’t know what the other entrances were like, but the north-east entrance was a total joke. thousands and thousands of people were funneled into a tiny little check point with ONLY 4 metal detectors. this severely hampered the pace of entrance for many folks, myself included. we were in the concourse hustling to our seats when the flyover happened, but did get to our seats for kick-off. anybody else experience this? i guess we will arrive 30 minutes earlier than we normally do, as to avoid that again.
from where i sit in the north endzone, i can see both and west and east sides. the east side usually appears to have money more empty seats than does the west. just sayin.

Ban the stupid flags on poles from being in the stadium! I sit in the northwest corner and there is such a concentration of flags being waved after each Utah touchdown, I literally can not see the extra point play, despite many of us yelling ‘put down the damn flags!’ It’s frustrating. If we must have flags, can we at least wait until after the extra point is scored??

i would agree to some extent. as a ‘whole’, yes, this year should be considered a success considering the amount of talent that was sitting injured on the sideline. any of us would have gladly taken an 8 win season had we known the massive amount of injured players this season would provide. my only complaint comes from the miserable performance and loss in the Las Vegas bowl.
Barnes is a warrior, but a below average QB at best. i am still a fan of his and hope for his success. with that said, i was not supportive of Whittngham’s and Ludwigs decision to ride Barnes through that entire bowl game. It was very clear about halfway through that game that our below average QB (Barnes) was having the worst game of his career, and still with the game in reach and victory very possible, they chose to ‘die on that hill’ with Barnes. Barnes gets a little dinged up and sits out for a couple of plays and Bottari comes in and throws a simple screen pass and suddenly doubles Utahs offensive yardage. why not leave him in for a bit? He could not have possibly played any worse then Barnes was playing………something needed to change……a spark…….anything. and they chose nothing. the fans, especially those that traveled to the game and paid a lot of money to support the team deserve better than that. i get the loyalty shown to barnes because of his awesome story and his toughness. but in the end, the program, the other players and the fans deserve the best product that can possibly be put on the field. just felt like that day, the coaches decided not to do that. that was perhaps the most frustrating loss i have watched in a very long time. it just seemed like the coaching staff didnt care…..i am sure they did care…….but the message i felt during that games was that they didnt. ‘lets just get this over with’ is what i felt.

Pretty simple answer. Cam Rising. He would be sitting in any transfers way this next season. It is wide spread knowledge that Cam is the man at Utah. What 4-5 star player wants to come be qb2?

agreed that theres been an element of hostage taking with the mystery surrounding Cam and his injury……and now appearing theres a very good chance he doesnt play this year. thats very easy to argue that having Cam ‘potentially’ ready to return this year kept any decent portal QB’s away. with that said, he’d certainly be ready to go next year, where we’d still have a strong defense and Isaac Wilson could get a year of being mentored by Cam. Isaac is likely our next star QB and he will need next season to get up to speed. I cant think of a better way then to have his freshman year spent with Cams final year.

Why is UNLV never mentioned? Geographically they’d be a great add. Vegas is a decent sized market with huge potential. I’m not in love with the idea of SMU. SDSU and UNLV seem to make the most sense. that puts the conf at 11 teams. then maybe SMU becomes the 12th??
thoughts?

No criticism about your comment here. Overall, Hubert was a huge liability in the backfield. I have watched the CCG and the Rose Bowl several times and have become fascinated with how often he was in the wrong location, pursued the wrong player or took terrible angles on tackles. Also seems he liked to hit rather than wrap up and tackle. Most of the big plays for the opposing teams in those two games were due to him. His interception in the CCG atoned for all the big mistakes he had been making, but still…

2008 victory over TCU. Utah and TCU both highly ranked and that game looked all but over for Utah when Brian Johnson steps up and delivers a magnificent final drive with a game winning touchdown. That win essentially placed utah into the BCS (again) where Utah then went on to spank Alabama. I still contend that while a regular season game, that victory alone did more for the Utah program and its progress since, than has any other win.

Utah may have the best TE room in the country. how well do we think its being utilized? Lohner has had maybe 3-4 targets this season and Kuithe has been highly underutilized. it feels like King, Ryan and Bentley all moved to a foreign country. Micah Bernard has proven to be one of the better running backs in the nation this year……and every game, when he seems to be ‘finding a groove’, coaches shut him down. dudes averaging 6.5 yards per carry, LET HIM COOK! we have decent to good receivers in parks, pittman and singer and for some reason it appears they struggle to get open when other teams with average receivers don’t seem to struggle with this. it seems as though the offensive schemes are not allowing for success by the receivers. where are the jet sweeps for kuithe? where are the screen passes that BYU is using when teams are bringing heat? where are the shallow crossing routes for the TE’s? Why do we stop running the ball when it seems to be effective? when a play call does work and gets chunk yards……we never see it again. just seems like ludwig is out of ideas. and the defense is playing with zero emotion. it pains me to say it, but right now, byu’s defense looks like what i have typically seen from our utes. this year, the utes look slow, uninspired and apathetic…..much like byu has looked like for years. i hope and pray that this ‘turning of the page’ lights a fire and the team finds some inspiration and the coaches coach like their backs are against the wall.
