  • I think the OT from USC, CB from TAMU, DEs from Oregon and Washington, Punter from Mizzou, and WR from Miss St. + Nate Johnson returning fill out the roster decently enough with Dampier/Rodgers from UNM, RB from UNLV, and WR from Wyoming & Utah St. Still probably need a little more line and RB depth.

We had a few losses that hurt (Calhoun,…[Read more]

  • It’s like the useless stats of all-time records or ‘last time they met, they beat them by 40 … 12 years ago’. Now, the team is different every year. Sure, there are programs and systems and continuity of some players at some schools, but not much anymore. Most teams (even elite) have a different qb every year now, transferred from somewhere else.

After BYU: Hey, we are ok (except for FT)! Smith is getting it together and better than KY Jelly
After Houston: We suck again! Fire Smith!

    Off campus venues are stupid.

Any venue should be able to expand/contract better while keeping noise levels up. A great 9k field house for bball is what is fitting in today’s market, but 15k for gymnastics is still viable. Not to mention other uses like concerts, graduations, etc.

Yeah, curious. He needs playing time and running out of years to do it. Unless he has realized he likely won’t make the NFL like others in his family and is just happy to keep playing some and hoping to coach in the future. So, could be good from a networking perspective ;).

  • Not half-brothers or step-brothers (as some have heard), but their parents are close friends and they met in HS and are really close, such as brothers are.

  • Appears that he is FR transfer from WY. 3-star (85) out of Paetow HW in Katy, TX. 6-1, 192 was also a triple jumper in track and field (11.93 100 is not very fast). Was used sparingly at WY (17 receptions, 204 yards, 3 TD) with best game vs Boise St. (4/82/1 with a 63 yard reception). So, appears he’s a depth play but maybe an athlete or could be…[Read more]

So, best case 10th, worst case 15th? At least not last as we were picked preseason 😉

  • Cue the boobirds of a G5 transfer.

This. I love these coaches speaking out. Sometimes it’s the Kiffin types that lead to attention and hopefully some change, but really, the NCAA enforcement is dead. FB needs a new oversight group that sets up collective NIL caps (can’t cap the actual endorsements, which is totally fine), portal timing/rules (only in April, no spring practice, only…[Read more]

  • As much as I don’t like it, I don’t think contacting missionaries is technically tampering. Ethically, probably, but poaching kids that are sign and send is a little easier with the influence of friends, mission presidents, etc. connecting with the kid coming off an experience they claim can be continued in the TDS environment, which appeals to…[Read more]

  • Is the basis that in 2021 at UA he only played 5 games? That you could redshirt if only 4 were played (yet a bowl game doesn’t count against that, so you could have 5 – in his case, he played 5 regular season games)? He played 4 seasons in 4 years, no JUCO, no covid year (1 year too late). Any other arguments?

Just sue and make it that you can…[Read more]

  • Meh, I have cousins that call close family friends aunt/uncle and their cousins, moreso than me and my siblings, cousins by blood. Whether bio (not), step (not), or just close, family is broader than blood. But maybe better to just say playing with a close friend, like some others that were here (Huntley, Simpkins from same HS)

Lies and speculation going on amongst the infamous kittyboard. They are just hoping for a Christmas miracle – which involves news from the Hill vs news about Jay Hill (or their own team).

  • DataUte replied to the topic Smith Snowden in the forum Football 5 months ago

There are rumors that are trying to create rumors to try to get him in the portal and transfer to TDS. And anyway, someone posting loyalty is now dumb until the portal closes on the 28th.

There needs to be rules on poaching that are enforceable, but the NCAA is dead in the water. They have no ability to do anything and lose court cases left and…[Read more]

  • Many schools are starting to ‘slot’ certain positions into the budget and I think the best way is to then offer incentives based on performance that you collect after the season. But if another school comes in with an exception or has a different approach (spend more to poach), then it’s a hard game to play and not zero sum.

  • Don’t we have a GM now? Not sure it is this guy, but most programs now have a GM between the AD and FB HC/staff to manage this stuff. But there could absolutely be a disconnect (technically, the coaches shouldn’t be involved in NIL, but they have to be).

Not fully. But it’s still fun to watch whomever is on the field sporting the uniform once all the recruiting, NIL, and transfers settle. So much noise and turmoil, but once the team is together, get the most out of them, hopefully with the fewest injuries possible, and see what happens.

  • Coach class tickets to Puerto Vallarta + hotel (ok, using points), and some snorkeling, but not until February when I’m more sick of the cold.

I think Santa is also bringing a new home office chair. That’s at least what I asked him for.

What’s ironic is the ‘pro-style’ is becoming more simplified except for the best of qbs. So a college system that takes that long to learn rarely actually gets them ready for the pros. All the rage are the Caleb Williams, Bryce Young, Jayden Daniels with ‘playmaking’ abilities. Many offenses are more short passes with occasional deep ball and some…[Read more]
