  • Good summary. One nit – I don’t like how everyone says QB2 is out. Yes, Rose was emerging as the potential 2, but it was still a toss-up when he got injured. Even if he had emerged, he would’ve been just as raw and mistake-prone as Nate. But I digress, just my opinion :).

All these injuries remind me of early PAC12 years in November. But that was…[Read more]

It’s fun and silly. I love maps, so I enjoy it too even if it is chaotic and nonsensical.

Our luck is Glover goes down at the 1, we have a false start, unsportsmanlike conduct, then holding, then miss the FG. JK

  • It is a rivalry, just not a competitive one haha. Last week definitely was more of what CU considers a rivalry game (Nebraska). CU-CSU is more like Utah-Utah St. Years of CU being Big 12 vs. CSU WAC/MWC does this to the competitiveness as well. They have played a lot in Denver but just recently started playing at the schools again (CSU has a new…[Read more]

Whitt said if you are up by 1, you kneel. If you are tied, you score. I think it still was a heads up, well taught play to even think about the choice – punch it in, burn time, or even kneel to bleed the clock to 3 seconds and kick the FG. That shows the savvy and coaching.

I also give credit to the Baylor player, knowing if he keeps him out,…[Read more]

  • Except for Big Noon Big 10 game, we own Fox the rest of the day. Too bad we share the slot with CU vs. Ore, but two ranked vs. ranked games in afternoon? Awesome for the rest of the country to see the b(r)and that is breaking up. I was hoping for the 5 game since I am trying to backpack Fri/Sat with my kid, but I’ll adjust.

  • DataUte replied to the topic NJ in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago

Especially with Rose out for a while with the lacerated liver (yikes!). It actually seemed like Rose was starting to rise about NJ and Barnes. Barnes can stay backup and is kudos to him, but I don’t think he would transfer. But a former 4* with Nate’s speed? If he’s stuck at 3, he’s out pretty soon. We know Cam is last year no matter what. We have…[Read more]

  • Surprise! 😉

ok, yeah, either a WTF game like Cal or dropping either UF or Baylor. Not sure an 11-2 PAC12 team makes it. Depends on a lot of other factors.

  • Surprise: CU wins 4 games (but only to bad teams)! Cal has a few upsets; Arizona better than .500; Utah beats USC, UW, UO, but drops the roadie @ Ore St. but avenges the loss in the CCG and goes to Fiesta to beat Penn St. (#3 in B1G)
Disappointments: UW, USC each have 3+ losses

Surprise: Barnes is so good, he throws for 3500 yards (some over the…[Read more]

  • Similar. I actually expect 70/30 run with time of possession playing the biggest role to wear them down then pull ahead in the 4th after the altitude fatigue sets in. Whitt will want TO-free play and not take too many risks, especially with Barnes in (with NJ in about 5-8 plays doing some wildcat with an occasional RPO). Passes will be short to…[Read more]

  • I’ll admit that I occasionally go over there, but I actually have all the sports categories unchecked (so only travel, business, misc is left). But I also delight that my work computer has no problem with ute forums but for CB, it’s even uglier and harder to use, so essentially blocked (like white page with individual links to a post). Jefe keeps…[Read more]

  • Does Vegas hear things and change the line or do people hear things, the betting shifts one direction, so Vegas then adjusts the line to try to balance out their risk? (honestly, I don’t know – don’t really keep track of odds and how it all works)

  • Here’s one location it’s confirmed: 247 – before WSU game

For Barnes, it’s his collegiate start. He was a walk-on in 2020 before earning a scholarship. He played in three games in 2021 and four contests in 2022.

It’s still fine to call him ‘walk-on Bryson Barnes’ as that’s where he started. He wasn’t ranked in the 2020 recruiting class and had…[Read more]

  • I agree that anyone thinking we will dominate ANY conference is certifiable. I don’t think any team dominates any conference almost ever. Even SEC teams have up and down years (sometimes that floor is still pretty high) but still struggle in some individual games.

I wouldn’t say we even dominated the PAC the last 2 years. Yes, we won the CCG, but…[Read more]

Agree – good with CBs. Seems almost like, ‘let’s see, who wants to take ST’s?’ afterthought. As noted below, Jay Hill was great. My argument is that the coverage is on the coaches. Kickers, as noted below, have been generally lucky, but glad we got the CU guy transferring in.

  • No replies needed. It’s all correct here. Haha, not really. Just my guesses. All for entertainment. Flame away.

Keep in mind that we have like 5-6 of the top 10 qbs in the nation in the PAC12. Offenses will be flying. Multiple qbs will have 4,000+ yards. There will likely only be 1 or 2 RBs over 1,000. Both of those are hot takes. Enough games…[Read more]

  • Definitely feel a momentum swing. The program is at a high still with room to go. This recruiting class will take a year or two to become starters (transfer guys ready to go now) but gives us even more depth which is needed.

I was really optimistic and excited in 2021 hoping for a 10-win season and hopes of a PAC12 championship and it happened…[Read more]

  • He was still recovering from his shoulder injury and they went with Brewer and his 4 years experience starting at Baylor. In hindsight, it was a miss as Brewer was selfish and the team didn’t like him and fought for Cam (was still a captain). IIRC, it was neck and neck and Brewer just got the nod since he was more or less ‘1-and-done’ and they had…[Read more]
