DataUte started the topic No FG block? in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
I was anticipating Lohner jumping as high as he could or some semblence of a FG block (from the edge, couple LBs jumping, trying to jump over like earlier in the season) but did I see it wrong? Seemed like it was an extra point – line pushes but really just watch to see if he misses?

DataUte replied to the topic What Would Happen if Harlan Didn't Pay the 40K Fine? in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
Big 12 could withhold 40k from the distribution and make Utah athletic department collect (or not) from Harlan.

Tickets still $150+. I was thinking of going, even if we might lose to support them (and should be a nice fall day), but my price point is a little lower for a 5-4/4-5 team (and to see Hunter). Guess CU fans are holding on as they are now bowl eligible and rising. I guess it’d be nice if they lost @TT.

I think playing a FR is partly to win, but also partly to win in the future (keep them here). Coaches always talk about playing the best player, but if there is a tie(ish), I can see why they went with IW perhaps based on promises or expectations or getting something out of NIL offer. They usually try to act impartial, but I’m sure there is some…[Read more]

DataUte replied to the topic For the first time in about 20 years I watched no college football. in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Before we were in the PAC, I even watched those games more than the Big 12. I went to grad school at a Big 12 school and still only watched other games occasionally and still watched more PAC games and ranked vs ranked B1G, SEC, ACC (less so, but sometimes). Maybe it was the style, maybe it was familiarity with some of the players, but yeah,…[Read more]

Here, I lost interest in bball because it was 3 or dunk/drive to the basket and get a foul call. Only a few teams have a ‘system’ or motion. Positionless basketball and spacing are not as quite interesting to me as other styles before.

I am putting it on him as far as he makes the calls on the strength and conditioning staff and trainers. There is more that can be done to help prevent injuries. They are going to happen, but to this extent for this long? Something is up.

Bottari fared well at CU last year (6/10 61 yds) but we ran for almost 300 yards

If the ding against Rose has been his inability to pick up the ‘complex’ Ludwig playbook, then this is his chance. Not like he has to hand off, hand off, incomplete to the flat like Ludwig. Simplify it and play to his physical strengths. Use Singer and Kuithe as well as a few others (Stanley on a screen?) with a decent dose of MB when the box only…[Read more]

Thumbs down to the injury, not the post. That sucks for him. I guess that leaves us with Rose and IW. At what point do we bring Ferrari Bottari back in?!

Right? Left wrist at Houston or something else in practice? Or the whole ‘needs to get a kneecap replaced’ that was from last season of HS and he’s been putting off.

DataUte replied to the topic Does the team want Isaac at QB? in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Isaac showed flashes of brilliance as a HS qb, but was more dual threat. He definitely has to learn the college game and to become a good qb, must either overwhelm with physical talents OR (and a little AND) read defenses, make quick decisions while making multiple reads, etc. With higher talent in college, that’s a big adjustment (HS often is one…[Read more]

DataUte replied to the topic What would be our record if JJ had stayed? in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Having JJ, Cam hands it off instead of scrambles playing Baylor, not getting his finger cut/dislocation and keeps playing and we are 8-0. What if … I stepped on a butterfly ;). But we pay JJ and Cam leaves, so we have Rose handing off to JJ and they stack the box and our qb throws a lot of interceptions and we are 4-4…

He has redshirted. He has 2 years of eligibility including this one, so he has next year left and can’t redshirt this year (although if he had not already redshirted, he could have at this point in the season – it’s 4 games or less).

Who is going to do this? NCAA? no. But I could see this type of concept gain traction when the P2 break away and form their own governance and rules (read SEC and B1G meeting a couple weeks ago to discuss how to mutually benefit each conference).

I looked up the weather hoping for a blizzard, but it looks like the day should be in the 60s, so cooler in the evening, but a pretty nice fall game. Bummer.

DataUte replied to the topic What would be our record if JJ had stayed? in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
A 2nd good RB would help. JJ was injured vs LSU and out Miss St. and might be out Ole Miss, so on par. Ankle issues. Maybe that lightens the load and JJ and MB split more, but having a less experienced qb has stacked the box which might be the biggest issue.
