I don’t know a lot about the NIL procedure honestly but wouldn’t the AD be heavily involved in negotiating those contracts/payments?

No doubt one of the biggest issues, in hindsight, is that this season’s hopes were riding on a historically injury prone player to avoid an injury. Unfortunately, that was a statistical improbability.
