  • And your point in bringing this up is…?

  • I’m guessing that Hackett’s problem was less about leg strength and more about the fact he was a rugby style kicker. Players in the NFL are too fast for that to be effective, hence why no one does it.

I’m still in “wait and see” mode, but I realistically think that this is probably an 8 win season. The offense will (hopefully) take a few steps forward, but I think the defense is likely to take a few steps back. I think we lose at SC and Washington, drop a close one to one of Stanford/Oregon/CU, then drop a WTF game somewhere along the line to…[Read more]

Glad I’m not the only one who dislikes fireworks. They’re absolutely out of control in my neighborhood (South Jordan, by Daybreak), starting at around 9:30 and continuing until 1:30am. And not just kids throwing firecrackers, there were the huge aerials (the ones that shake my windows when they explode) going off that early in the morning.…[Read more]

  • I guess I don’t get why that’s a bad thing or why people get so defensive about it. I enjoy hearing the multiple perspectives, no matter how much I may disagree with them.

Having people poke holes in my arguments makes me either re-evaluate those positions or figure out how to defend them better. Getting all huffy about it and claiming…[Read more]

  • I’m not sure how that’s terribly surprising, considering politics is dominating the national discussion right now.

I personally can’t get excited about softball, the Jazz/NBA, or new uniforms, and haven’t posted here in a month as a result.

If the choice is politics posts or nothing, I’ll take politics just to have something to talk about.

The fact that those who scream the loudest about “snowflakes” and “safe spaces” are the ones who leave the site in a huff never stops being funny.

Aw man, I miss all the fun.

  • Agreed. I never had any issues with Jimmer. By all accounts, he’s a stand-up dude.

It’s the Zoobs who completely worshipped him that were just creepy af.

  • I made her wait until she was 8. Partly because she’s a little sensitive to scary things in movies (which is odd, as she’s otherwise fearless), and partly because I wasn’t sure she’d really understand it. Outside of pew-pew and funny aliens, anyways.

She turned 8 on March 18 and was literally asking me every day since then. Lol

  • Loved it, can’t wait.

Side note: my daughter (8) just watched A New Hope for the first time today. Towards the end, she tells me “Dad, Princess Leia is seriously in charge. That’s AWESOME!”

Thank you, Carrie Fisher, for inspiring yet another generation of girls to be bad-ass leaders.

Thanks for the reports, love the enthusiasm.

The common theme since last year has been “you know what you get with Troy on the field”. While I’m not necessarily expecting it, I’d love for him to have a breakout year and prove everyone wrong.

You’re right, they’re both thieves. A fact that has been stated by multiple people already.

If they’re both thieves, I suppose it only makes sense to support the group of thieves who are only trying to take my money, rather than the ones who are hell-bent on destroying civil rights, the environment, foreign relations, and the US economy…in…[Read more]

I get that banging the “both sides are bad” drum is your thing, but it seems to me that you’re kinda missing the point.

I’m fairly sure that no one is claiming that the money Obama spent on vacations is a positive. Hell, I was an Obama supporter and even I had a significant issue with the money that he was spending for security…but it’s a drop…[Read more]

This principle certainly works both ways. However, as this poll shows, it’s certainly stronger when one is entrenched in conservative ideology.

  • SkinyUte replied to the topic Not surprised. in the forum Politics 7 years, 7 months ago

See, you have to understand the fundamental principle at play here:

The action or policy is immaterial.
When Democrats/Obama/liberals do something, that automatically makes it bad.
When Republicans/Trump/conservatives do something, that automatically makes it good.

Seen through that filter, none of these sort of results are surprising.

    The only…[Read more]

  • The problem (for me, anyways) is less about the actual money, but more two other things:

    1. The fact we’re going to cut programs like NEA or VOA because we “can’t afford them” and need to be “fiscally responsible”, yet we have plenty of money for Trump to spend on his golf outings and protecting his family in NYC because they can’t be bothered…[Read more]
