FWIW, Oregon is actually only on this because they recruited Bowen who ultimately turned down Oregon for Louisville, who was later found to have paid him 100k. In the following tweet, Wetzle says that “being mentioned to jurors does not necessarily mean wrongdoing”.

As a non Ute fan, I cannot wait for the day that Utah loses patience with Whittingham and fires him (or mutually part ways)

The rest of the pac-12 will rejoice.

some oregon fans consider it blasphemoy, but Herbert is every bit as good as Mariota passing the ball if not better. Mariota was probably a little quicker on his feet but that being said, Mariota actually had good receivers to work with. Oregon has very little receiving talent this year (and last year) and somehow, Herbert is still putting up big passing numbers.

It’ll be interesting to see if he leaves after this season. Some say he will stick around his senior year to play with his incoming freshman brother, Patrick Herbert (Tightend)

Sorry to bust your theory, But Kelly only got 1 year of Mariota (his freshman year) before going to the NFL

Chip Kelly went to a rose bowl with a guy named Jeremiah Masoli (who currently plays in Canada), Masoli was then kicked off the team for stealing. He then took Oregon to a National title game (and another rose bowl) with a guy named Darron Thomas (who was a back up in the Arena Leauge last I checked.)

Oregon lost to Texas Southern at home WITH bol bol playing.

You don’t have to be athletic to beat the Ducks. Utah just got unlucky their 3’s weren’t going in. which coencidently, is the same reason Oregon beat Utah at the Huntsman center. 8.7% (2-23) from three by a team that normally shoots almost 40% is insanely unlucky.

Oregon’s defense was good in the paint but I don’t feel like they did anything in particular on the perimeter to make Utah uncomfortable shooting. The press always seems to give Utah fits, which may be why they were subconsciously nervous when shooting the 3.

On top of that, Payton Pritchard has played out of his mind the last 2 weeks which is why Oregon has won 6 straight. Pritchard, (the only remaining piece of the final 4 team) was expected to be this kind of player all season but had played poorly all year up until the last 4-5 games

I am pretty certain that theres an allowance that can be given to each player in gifts aka “gear” even at Oregon. Really, the only benefit that Oregon has over others when it comes to that kind of stuff is being able to receive gear outside of the Nike template with custom designs and what not.

While I’d like to say Oregon runs a clean program in all sports, Basketball is certainly the one where I would not be surprised if something were to come out. The whole sport is dirty and losing integirty fast. Dana Altman is a fantastic coach on the court but his mishandling of a few off court issues have had me question his own itegrity. And while the tweet above isn’t referencing anything Oregon did wrong, unfortunately, I wouldn’t be shocked if something else was revealed down the road.

Im gonna go ahead and guess that Oregon would have no problem outbidding Louisville if they were going to do that.

I 100% agree that Kelly won’t find the same success he had at Oregon but it will be because no one is blindsided by his offense anymore. There was a time when teams in the PAC-10 had to fake injuries just to slow Oregon down. That is no longer the case, and what Chip Kelly brings to the table is something that every team sees week in and week out.

On top of all that, I don’t think people realize how much Kelly got bailed out by his assistants. Keep in mind that Current Nebraska coach Scott Frost was a huge part of the reason why Oregon was so successful (among others)

Above all else though, Chip hated recruiting. At Oregon, he recruited small and fast under the radar guys, that is not going to cut it in todays game, especially with USC in his backyard.

I am not quite sure what the bowl record with and without Mariota has to do with anything though, Mariota played against Kansas st in the fiesta bowl against some QB who is probably working on a farm now, while the other 3 games were against 3 Current NFL player’s (Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Terrelle Pryor)

For fun, here are a couple videos of cal and stanford faking injuries

FWIW, Oregon had Texas a&m scheduled this season but they backed out just a little over a year ago and were replaced with bowling green which was one of only a handful of available teams.

They play Auburn next year and Ohio st in 2020. Assuming they don’t back out.
