Please, give Bryson some love. We are talking about a 1A football player from a school with a graduating class of 36 going into the fabled Coliseum and he takes down the reigning Heisman Trophy Winner and on top of that he is a fantastic human being. Bryson Barnes is a fantastic story and his coaches and teammates love him and have confidence in him, so should we!!!

Just take a breath and a Xanax and relax. There are a lot of things in play and a lot of options being discussed. When the dust settles, the U will land in a good place.

AT this point the worst thing that could happen is Utah overlooks Colorado. I was really pulling for Washington to win last night as that would eliminate the Buffs from having a shot at a bowl game. Now they are going to play their guts out to get to a bowl game and it is a classic trap game for the Utes if they look past them at all and start thinking about playoffs and roses. With USC winning, we have to beat Colorado and if we want a shot at the 4 slot in the playoffs we need to beat them convincingly. I have full confidence that Kyle will not let this happen. Go Utes!

“Utah is by far, by far the superior program and that’s not breaking news.”
Interesting coming from Gordo.
He also said that he had not heard from one BYU fan that they were going to win.
My response…

I know we are primarily talking athletics here but one aspect to the PAC 12 that has been a huge lift to the whole state and the U in particular is the academic lift from being in the PAC 12. The peer pressure from competing with the likes of Stanford, Cal, UCLA, USC, etc has caused the U to reach academic goals that have far exceeded what we have done on the athletic fields. The graduation rates of students at the U as significantly increased, retention of students from freshmen to sophomores is currently at 90% which is unheard of. While the U has always brought in huge amounts of research dollars since joining the PAC 12 that has also increased. This doesn’t even count the huge increase in athletic money that has flowed into the state because of the PAC 12 affiliation. All these positives add up to better more and better trained graduates and a huge economic increase to the state.

I have four tickets of my own and then I split four tickets with another guy that can’t make it to all the games. They are excellent seats and I pay him what it costs him including the crimson club donation. I am sure there are others out there that would do the same as I’m doing.

The bill is HB 202. Most of what you said is wrong. The bill involves all higher ed institutions, public, private and non-profit which includes BYU, Westminster, the U, Utah State, SUU, etc. All contracts are confidential no matter the amount. If a student athlete enters into a contract for $600 or higher they have to disclose it to the institution and then the institution has provide the student athlete with certain things. The bill prevents a student athlete from entering into an NIL deal with companies or entities that promote our sell tobacco, e-cigs, alcohol, controlled substances, gambling, betting, sex oriented businesses, etc. It also prevents any state taxpayer money from being used for NIL deals. There you have it. Go Utes!

I’m sorry but none of you know the true story about what transpired with the loss of the PAC 12 and what was going on in those mtgs. Just get over it and know that President Randall was much closer to a hero than a goat. Get over it, grow up and support our teams. Go Utes!
