This feels more like the Bajema replacement that I thought Exacte had a chance to be next year. Little bit shorter than his brother, but looks like he can shoot it.

I’m not getting up my hopes because Indiana State is a solid team and as you mentioned, this is a de facto road game for us. That being said, I’ll be in front of the TV watching at 5:00, because you never know. Go Utes!

The crowd was definitely at least borderline great tonight. They were into it from the jump (helped that we got out to such a good start), and surprisingly few people left early despite the blowout. Generally I can just walk up before the game to get concessions without a wait at all, tonight the lines were long enough that we decided to wait…[Read more]

  • My guess is that there weren’t as many tickets sold as it looked like because season tickets holders had first dibs on their tickets until noon yesterday. What that does tell us is that there are a lot of season ticket holders that aren’t showing up.

Couldn’t make it tonight (Sunday game and all,) but definitely planning on going Wednesday. The guys are playing hard still, good to see.

  • No glitch, they mentioned at the game, and in the email recently sent out, that tickets for this game were $10. Hopefully that gets a good crowd there.

I don’t see how it could hurt. If anything, you could use it as a recruiting pitch – “we’re right on the edge of being a tournament team, you can be the player that gets us to the next level.”

  • Definitely a better time, but Sunday will keep some away (myself included.) Oh well

  • At some point I guess we just have to admit that there aren’t very many basketball fans out there and the crowds won’t ever be what they once were. This team has won 20 games, gone 15-2 at home (and the ASU was the only stinker, the U of A triple OT loss was a great game), has been a fun team to watch (if exasperating at times), and fans are…[Read more]

9:30 am?! What is this, Junior Jazz? I figured there was no way they would schedule it on Sunday because you would get no one there, but with that start time it might be 50/50 which would get more people.

  • Absolutely agree with the inconsistency. They got Lovering twice I believe for a hip/butt check on a dribble handoff screen (second one was rather iffy because they guy had him completely wrapped around the waist), but UCI was doing a lot of similar “butt” screens without garnering a whistle. Just call it both ways!

  • Box score had it as 3137, which is pretty accurate. It was actually a fairly decent turnout by the MUSS, but overall there weren’t a ton of people there.

  • Keita is worth the price of admission by himself. Guaranteed to see 2 or 3 plays every game that bring you out of your seat.

  • They are indeed still available. You now have first dibs on them.

  • Topic says it all – I won’t be attending the Oregon game on Sunday and would like my tickets to go to a good home. Utes will need all the help they can get against the Ducks. First come, first serve if anyone is interested.

For future reference, there’s also parking and a shuttle at the Eccles Broadcast building (southeast of the softball field.) Honestly, given the limited amount of parking that is available on campus, I think the U actually does a pretty good job between the shuttle service and Trax.

A Sunday game is always going to be a lower attended game. Not as low as if BYU was playing a Sunday game….., but still, lot of people (such as myself) skip out on a Sunday game. I donated my tickets at least so hopefully they were put to good use.

  • Staples replied to the topic Game Day!!! in the forum Basketball (Men) a year ago

I’ll be there! Even by our standards I’m guessing this one is lightly attended. Week of Christmas, weekday game, no-name opponent, all ingredients for a game where a few hundred of us diehards show up. I’m hoping to see Deivon Smith get a few more minutes tonight and show what he can do.

  • And now the NCAA came out today and said that if an athlete plays in the 14-day window, it will count against their redshirt if the court case is overturned on appeal. Can’t see many (if any) teams playing someone for a couple of games if there’s the risk they burn an entire season in doing so.

  • Totally agree, I always liked playing Utah State and Weber State, even on the road. Would be nice to bring that back. I ran into Brock Miller (who played for the Aggies) at Hires during the first year that Craig Smith was here. His thought at the time was that he thought Craig was open to playing Utah State down the road, but he guessed it…[Read more]
