Every year there is a new excuse. Next year if we are a .500 team it will be that the LB and DL group is weak or the OL hasn’t come together quite yet. Maybe we just aren’t cut out for the Power 5 based on the performance since joining.

I know it was tongue in cheek – of course we can recruit a QB. The bottom line is the whole organization is not getting it done. My definition of getting it done is playing in one conference championship game in the first decade of joining then repeating at least once every 5 or 6 years.

The Pro Whit that argument we lost all the talent to the NFL is comical beyond belief. The fact that it is true that we had 16 players from last years team go to the NFL through the draft and free agency is actually an indictment on the coaching staff’s performance or ceiling. If you cant win the South with the talent we had last year when will we?

Don’t feel bad. More a symptom of the college game. After all it was often said that Dean Smith was the only person in the world that could hold Jordan under a 20 points a game.

Will the rebuilt Ute team be expected to win the South next year?

How do we know it is a rebuilding year and not something that will persist past this season? How does are peaking next season or the season after phase with the other teams in our division? Will USC have a rebuilding year next year? UCLA or the AZ schools? Hard to project how the confluence of all the factors will play out.

Doesn’t have to be our place though. This is the talk of people that are paralyzed in fear of cleaning house and starting with a fresh young up and coming coach. Who knows it just may work.

Come on guys give it time. This is only our 7th year in the Pac 12. Give it another 10 years then fire Whitt if he hasn’t won the South outright after 17 seasons.

Yes but people keep reminding me that we tied for first in 2015 though lost the tie breaker and that we cant do any better than Whitt so we might as well be happy with a mediocre Power 5 team.

Agree. We aren’t playing for anything this year other than to best position us for another crack at winning the south next year. Give Huntley all the experience he can get
