Twice in 14 years. Do you really think we’ll see Shelley if the offense stalls under Huntley?

True freshman Trevor Lawrence will start this week for Clemson, replacing Kelly Bryant, who only lead Clemson to an 11-1 regular season, ACC championship, and trip to the playoffs last season.
I feel like the QB position under Whit is a “win it in August and it’s yours all season” kind of situation, while every other position is a weekly battle…[Read more] -

I wouldn’t say UW is “vastly more talented”. Last four years recruiting rankings, per Rivals:
UW
2015 30
2016 37
2017 23
2018 15
Average – 26
Utah
2015 41
2016 33
2017 25
2018 38
Average – 34 -

Washington’s secondary is the best in college football, and it’s not close.

The concerns with the offense are justified, and we’re going up against the best defense we’ll see this season. Vegas is predicting a 27-21 UW win, can an offense that only scored 10 points a week ago against Northern Illinois put 28 on the board vs UW?

Yeah I guess if you eliminate all the ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and Thursday and Friday games it looks like they had a lot of viewers:

I’m a fan and I don’t see any reason for all the hand wringing over the rankings. They simply don’t matter at this point.

I’d be surprised if they dropped Utah in this scenario, even if our football program went into the crapper. Salt Lake City is currently the #34 tv market in the US, and is growing rapidly. I would think they’d keep Salt Lake City, which is a bigger market than Austin or Oklahoma City (although obviously those markets cover bigger football brands…[Read more]

Online platforms aren’t quite there yet, but by the time the current conference tv contracts begin to expire in the mid 2020’s the cord cutters are going to have real options as far as live sports. We won’t see teams getting $50M a year like the Big Ten is now, but there won’t be a shortage of cash, and the PAC12 isn’t going to be dropping anybody…[Read more]

Honestly who cares about the rankings at this point, the only rankings that matter are the CFP Committee rankings, and those don’t come out until week 9, at which point there will be plenty of data to base rankings on.
Penn St plays both Ohio St and Michigan St before the first CFP rankings come out, so we’ll see if they’re really a top ten team…[Read more]

Arcega-Whiteside will be a mismatch against every team Stanford plays. I’m interested to see how Utah defends him.

BYU is lucky they don’t play Weber this season.

TheJuggernaut replied to the topic Give me three expectations for this game. OTHER THAN A WIN in the forum Football 6 years, 2 months ago
1 – No injuries
2 – No injuries
3 – No injuriesWeber is no pushover, but I don’t really think we’re going to learn a lot, especially considering Whit’s tendency to play an extremely vanilla gameplan when facing early season lesser competition. Just get out of the game with a W and everyone healthy.

The discussion isn’t why he left, it’s whether he’d be playing and competing for a starting spot were he at Utah, which he absolutely would.

One he wouldn’t be showing up 20 lbs overweight if he was still at Utah. Two “battle for a starting spot” is not the same as “would start”. He would absolutely be in the mix to play and possibly start.

BYU and Utah State do have players who would battle for starting spots at Utah – Khyris Tonga from BYU, Tarver and Raymond from Utah St. That’s probably it.

Paterno covered for Sandusky and let him abuse kids at Penn St football facilities for literally a decade. Obviously we don’t have all the facts re Urban but I think the Paterno situation was much worse.
Urban had plenty of issues at Florida, the article below states he had 31 players arrested from 2005-2010, yet Ohio St couldn’t hire him fast…[Read more] - Load More
