Hey folks, chin up…I remember traveling to see Utah play Oregon in the 2019 CCG in Santa Clara.
Utah had absolutely everything to play for, most importantly, a spot in the CFP.
Oregon had nothing to play for…if they won, they went to the Rose Bowl…if they lost, they went to the Rose Bowl.
What happened? Oregon 34 – Utah 15 is what…[Read more]

My dad always told me to ignore people who start written sentences with “Ummm,” but I’ll make an exception in your case.
I just love people that say “I work with XXX” so that makes me the be all and end all for whatever is being discussed. Do you work with people that head the Boulevard Collective? If not, then your opinion of where SMU sports…[Read more]

I don’t have a “pompous” attitude. If you did more than occasional drive by’s whenever you felt a need to grace us with your presence, you’d know that I, and many others, have been opposed to Utah being in the Big XII since, well, forever. It has nothing to do with thinking we’re better, I just don’t give a rat’s ass about any of those schools.…[Read more]

Hey lil bro, you don’t need to explain yourself. Your comments made it obvious that you’re a BYU fan masquerading as something else.

You never now… it’s certainly mathematically possible. BYU most certainly isn’t assured of a victory against ASU.

I don’t think so…the ACC has a number of blue bloods both academically and athletically while the Big 12 doesn’t have one. The ACC also has pull with the Eastern Establishment while the Big 12 doesn’t even have pull with some of its members, of which Utah is the most obvious.

Yeah, my BS signal was pinging hard when I read that as well. Another tell…

Blah, blah, blah…my BS detector is really going off. Another BYU fan coming in here camouflaged as an “Utah fan” telling us how we should feel. Like the so called LSU fan on another thread, that’s the tell.
You guys can’t help yourself and constantly preach to other fans how they should act and feel.
Well buddy, sorry…I only speak for…[Read more]

Exactly. It isn’t like the Big XII is some government entity like the IRS. From where i’m standing, the only hammer they have is the ability to suspend the athletic department and ban other conference teams from competing against Utah. That would make for some compelling theater.

You obviously have a soft spot for BYU in your heart. Nothing wrong with that unless you’re trying to pass yourself off as an unbiased observer. The tell f9r me is when you said that BYU has the potential to be dangerous in the CFP. You do realize that BYU needed outrageous good fortune to barely beat the worst two teams in the Big XII, right?…[Read more]

Hard to see how they could garnish his wages since the Big XII doesn’t pay his salary. Only the University of Utah can garnish his wages.

Options? In my mind, there are only really two, go to the ACC or to the reconstructed PAC. I’m not certain whether the ACC, at this point would want us or, if it did, would make Utah take a well below market deal like it did for Cal, Stanford, and SMU. If money isn’t the primary factor, (yeah, I know, fat chance, right?) then the smart play…[Read more]

I hear you Rick…about the only enforcement mechanism that my uneducated self could come up with is suspend the entire Utah Athletic Department until Harlan paid his fine.

That is exactly it. They’ve gotten drunk on the success of the last nine games.

I would agree to that. I’ve never been on CougarBoard but I’ve heard that they stamp out dissenting views rather quickly. I would hate it if we became like them.

You know what, I could be wrong, but I’m starting to get the feeling that there might be a nasty divorce brewing…I can’t imagine saying stuff like what he did last night without something going on behind the scenes. At this point, it’s become patently obvious that Utah and the Big XII aren’t very well suited for each other.
