The Miami Ute replied to the topic Tickets question in the forum Football 2 weeks, 1 day ago
That’s what I expect to happen. The main reasons are that it’s a night game, it’s going to be cold, Utah is having a bad season, and BYU demand has driven the price of the tickets to a sky-high level so Ute fans can make a tidy profit selling their tickets. Something similar happened last basketball season when BYU visited the Huntsman Center.…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Weather for Saturday in the forum Football 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Yeap, I’ve seen plenty of people dressed like they’re going skiing in cold weather games. For me, the best thing to do is bring a seat back to avoid contact with the bleachers.

I have four dogs. Two are 8, one is 7, and the last one is six. They’re such a part of my family’s life that I can’t even contemplate being without one of them. All I do is just tell myself to not worry about the future and enjoy them every day I have them.

I’m in Vegas eating in a deal restaurant and didn’t see that post. It was just the first thing that popped into my mind. And Rose even has a faint resemblance to Ratliff as well… I’m glad that you and I see eye to eye on this

You guys know who Rose reminds me of? Brett Ratliff. And, just like Ratliff in 2005, I hope he craps all over BYU’s parade next weekend. Let fly Brandon, let fly….

I don’t think other posters knew it was a meaningless exhibition game.

It was an exhibition game. It doesn’t count as a win or loss.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic QB Situation Going Forward in the forum Football 3 weeks, 3 days ago
Yeah, the feeling I got was that he wasn’t even part of the picture. Unless something unforeseen happens, it’s either Isaac or Brandon the rest of the season.

What I meant by slip is that he specified what type of injury it was. The exact quote from him was: “Yeah. Money Parks is out for the season with a broken cla…I mean upper body injury.”

I’m at the Crimson Club Luncheon and I asked Whitt about the QB situation going forwards. He said that Isaac and Brandon are splitting reps this week and the starter will be a game time decision. He also said that Brandon has improved quite a bit this year and it wouldn’t surprise him if he got a lot more playing time. He also mentioned that…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Tuttle hangs it up in the forum Football 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Tuttle was on the leadership council? How was that possible? He left a couple of months into his freshman season. I thought those spots were reserved for veteran players. I don’t have any spite for Tuttle. He left because he didn’t fit in at Utah and I can’t blame him for that. His biggest claim to fame is the ability to get a couple of…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic What's our record if the pig farmer stays and is QB2 in the forum Football 3 weeks, 6 days ago
Really Ghost, do you think we lose to ASU? Personally, I think the likeliest loss would have been to Zona, but that’s just me. I can definitely see a path for this team to be undefeated with regular, not outstanding, play from Barnes.

You know, I’ve been thinking about that quite a bit. If Barnes had stayed and performed as last year, we’re easily, at worst, 6-2, and possibly undefeated. Given the circumstances, I’m sure that Barnes is also probably kicking himself for transferring. I get that he wanted to play but he’s a backup as USU as well.

Sorry brother, but occasionally you have to look at the way things are instead of the way you wish them to be.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic This could be worse. in the forum Football 3 weeks, 6 days ago
Well, here’s the other thing…the defense has kept us in the game but we’ve been playing cupcakes. Also, keep in mind that last night’s game was only in doubt because Houston shot itself in the foot TWICE within the shadow of the goal line. They get any points out of those drives and the game is over sooner rather than later. I additionally…[Read more]

It’s really shocking to see how the team has regressed in so many phases of the game just in the last two seasons.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Will committed recruits stay committed? in the forum Football 3 weeks, 6 days ago
Whittingham should have gone to the portal and brought in another QB as insurance for an injury prone Rising.
Some of us have been saying that statement the moment we knew the extent of Rising’s injury in July 2023. It’s also something that will be printed in Whitt’s tombstone should he not be able to right this ship.

The way I see it, here’s where the heartburn with Harlan comes in:
1. It was Harlan that gave Whitt the massive extension that Utah is on the hook for.
2. Harlan flubbed the Smith hire and stayed too long with Farden. Given that, it’s hard to see him being capable of selecting the next football coach if Scalley isn’t the automatic hire. - Load More
