NIL is too good to hang it up when you have remaining eligibility. I can guarantee that if Cam can prove by early next year that he’s fit, some top school will take a chance on him if Utah lets him go. For example, look at the guys that Notre Dame has brought in the last couple of years (Sam Hartman, Riley Leonard, etc…). A healthy Cam is…[Read more]

So, you’re saying there’s a chance?

Well, you better be ready because it’s going to be all the rage until it gets resolved.

As stated on another thread, Cam Rising’s season is over due to a rumored torn meniscus.
Because Cam sustained a major injury while appearing in less than 30% of competitions, will not participate after the midpoint of the season, and the injury will prevent him from competing in the remainder of the playing season, he will be eligible for a…[Read more]

It’s really up to him, isn’t it? He doesn’t have to come back to Utah but he will qualify for a medical redshirt and I already mentioned the example of Cam McCormick over at the U. If Utah doesn’t want him, I’m sure that there will be a market for him somewhere.

Not trying to be a troll, but there’s a point where toughness crosses over into stupidity and, dare I say it, selfishness. You’d think that Cam, having probably the worst game of his life (late in the game he had a 30 percent completion rate), would have tapped out and allowed a healthy Isaac to take over for him. The other side of the coin is…[Read more]

I was about to ask the OP if he didn’t like Travis. I can’t think of a more enjoyable Utah victory than the ass-whooping that Travis led in Autzen in 2015.

That’s one way of looking at it. Another would be why would Whitt and Lud allow someone with that type of injury to play the entire game and jeopardize Utah’s season. It isn’t like they didn’t have proof right in front of their eyes that something was massively off with Rising. That to me, is a severe case of coaching malpractice.

Well, no one will ever be able to take the two Rose Bowl appearances and that electrifying TD run in the first one away from him. He was 1st Team All PAC in 2021 and that’s also something that no one will ever be able to take away from him. I sincerely hope that the school does something for him in the last home game. That being said, that last…[Read more]

Surely can’t make it any worse. Make no mistake, an almost healthy Rising is better than Isaac all day long. But, we’re not there and probably never be…Isaac is the best shot we have to see some competent play out of the QB position.

I have a pair of Under Armour Utah Utes branded running shoes and I never wear them because they’re so uncomfortable.

That’s a reach. Tuttle didn’t even get any playing time before he left. Hell, he left in mid-season.

WTF am I talking about? Cam had a good game versus a bad G5 outfit (wow, imagine that) and a mediocre half (8-14 for 92 yards) against probably the worst team in the Big XII (Baylor). That WTF I’m talking about. If Cam’s performance versus Baylor sold you as a fan that he was “back”, then I can’t help you.

Of course it is. It would be totally against human nature if it didn’t. I mean, in Rising you have a guy that receives more NIL than the rest of the team put together yet he’s clearly not fit to play college football and hasn’t been for almost two years. These young adults would have to be saints to not let something like that affect them.

You know…I’m afraid that it might be a sparse crowd. It’s projected to be cold and the game probably won’t end until after midnight. Either way, it wouldn’t surprise me if people started departing after halftime.
