For me, the biggest negative is that you had two weeks to prepare to face a mediocre ASU team and thought that you could win by having a U sticker on your helmet. I mean, WTF did they focus on those two weeks? ASU is Skatteboo and not much else and they were still able to roll the Utes. As I said last night after the game, Rising can’t play…[Read more]

I’ve had basketball season tickets close to the floor for a few seasons and see Harlan all of the time at games schmoozing and working the “whales”. So, you might be right Eagle in that he’s a smooth talker and can work the financial/donation side of the athletic department. However, for me, he definitely failed his first task, which was to get…[Read more]

This is not a troll question, but do you know Whitt personally and associate with him? There’s got to be some people here that really know what’s going on in his mind. If I’m 65, in a high-stress/high-pressure job and I’ve already made more money than I’ll even be able to spend in my lifetime, I don’t spend more than a minute after the season is…[Read more]

If Utah doesn’t win the Big XII title, then it has little to no chance of getting a bid to the CFPs. There are too many other teams with bigger and better brands and in stronger conferences that will be selected before them.

Well Eagle, Scalley is 11 years older than Dillingham…if he hadn’t stayed in Utah, he would have been a HC somewhere already.

I don’t trust Harlan to have that conversation with Whitt or to make a correct decision. In fact. if Scalley is not the next HC, I don’t trust Harlan to be the deciding factor as to who the next HC would be.

Social security will be chump change compared to the money that he’s already socked away.

Absolutely nothing to flame.
It’s nothing that quite a few people here haven’t been saying for a while. The difference is that now, people that are die-hard Whitt loyalists are saying it.
This team has a lot of problems and, to me, it almost feels as if the staff/team is living off the period from 2018-2022.
Will the team suck once Whitt…[Read more]

You forgot to take one thing into consideration…every team left in our schedule has a functioning QB room. Unless Utah makes some progress in that direction, victories are going to be hard to come by. Hope is not a method.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Did fans and the media factor into their decision to go w/ Cam? in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Man,if this is true Whitt has lost his marbles. Since when does a player decide whether he plays or not? The product, no matter how valiant the effort, was totally unsatisfactory.

If you saw the game, he’s the bald Armenian dude with the glasses that was sitting with Cam in the sidelines. He’s Utah’s Senior Offensive Analyst/Quarterbacks coach and used to be the OC a5 Northwestern.

He’ll be 65 in November. He isn’t a young man any more. If I were him I’d retire but maybe he wants to stick around to prove his detractors wrong. That being said, it sure would be a damned shame if he overstayed and that ended tarnishing his legacy. He’s on contract for three more seasons after this one so it’s definitely something to think about.

I mean, who really cares…with the 12 team playoff bowls are about as relevant as a horse drawn carriage.

The Miami Ute started the topic Utah Might Not Win Another Game This Season in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Shocking I know, but definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Keep in mind that Utah just got outplayed (and Whitt got outcoached) by two middle-bottom programs in the Big XII. Now TCU comes to town and while their defense isn’t that great, they can certainly move the ball and have victories over Stanford and Kansas. I certainly wouldn’t…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic I can't wait to hear all the excuses in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
I will say that, if this season deteriorates into a full-blown disaster, it will surely take a ton of luster off Scalley. I mean, who promotes the DC of a losing team to HC? And given the schedule, the number of players out, the number of players playing hurt, the number of players under-performing, this could be Whitt’s worst season in over a decade.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Fire Kyle Whittingham in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
No matter the results, I think that Whitt has earned the right to go out whenever he wants to and however he wants to. That being said, I think that during these last two seasons, we’ve kind of crossed a Rubicon into mediocrity that probably won’t be fixed until a new regime gets installed. The way that the QB position, the most important…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Injuries stacking up on D in the forum Football 1 month, 2 weeks ago
That’s something that Drake Toll focused on in his podcast after Utah’s loss versus Arizona. All I know is that anytime I’ve seen a team (pro or college) have similar issues in the past, the strength and conditioning guy(s) is canned. It could be just a run of bad luck but so many injuries over such an extended period of time point to something…[Read more]
